Priscilla Presley - she of the Naked Gun series of movies was once seen wearing an old Wigan RL top circa 1984. This JJB sports shirt (minus the logos) was worn on the first movie (I think) It was a brief scene - but is there never-the-less.

They caught him on a film-set between takes, and asked him if a Wigan lad like him felt proud to finally see his football club in the Premiership. Razor Ruddock used to be a good mate of Super Kel & had a Wigan shirt with 'Ruddock' & No. '8' on the back.

I remember almost walking into Rick Astley as he came out of the Whitbread Stand at CP after a mtch.

The Great White Shark was a Wigan fan (as well as a Brisbane Broncos fan) & had a Wigan shirt printed with his name on while playing in the British Open a few years back.

I remember Richard Branson stating that his kids were Wigan fans, as was Pete Waterman's son who IIRC tragically died.

Many Utd & Liverpool players used to regularly watch Wigan matches in recent years - Roy Keane used to bring his kids &, as stated earlier, both Giggsy & Scholesy used to attend (Giggsy used to be a useful RL player for Salford Schoolboys - his dad was a very useful, but erratic, stand-off for Swinton - Danny Wilson.............I remember him having a blinder against Wigan during our season in the old Second Division).

Don't laugh I am deadly serious, I have a theory... if you watch their latest film (were rabbit), at the beginning of the film there is Wigan A-Z streetmap in the glove box of their van (pause it for proof)... NOW, given the style of terraced housing, costume and social status of the town, I'd say they're more likely to support Wigan rugby playing at a central park and not athletic at springfield park
