Nobby has done fine this year.
He got us to a creditable and stable 4th in the league with recent wins over 2 of the 3 teams above us. (Still cannot crack Saints - but who can?)
The team has been shattered with the points deduction. This deduction was defferred by the club until semi-final week - this was not Nobby decision - this was a huge blow going into the semi.
The team know that their season is over and Nobby is trying to firefight from 9th in the league instead of pushing for a better play off spot.
The club is at fault more than the players and coaching staff.

It's not often I agree with you, DoD, but I do this time!

I see the point, but I still find it difficult not to lay blame at the feet of the players after the dross that I've had to sit and watch the last two weeks.

Personally I don't think that it is Brian Noble's fault.
On paper we have one of the best sides in the league. It's not the coach who is failing to turn up and concedes tries in the first 5 minutes of the match. I can't believe that our coaching is the only reason we are being beaten perennial mid-tablers like wire; much less the fiasco against matalan last week.
There is a weakness that runs through the side - and it seems to be almost infectious. The team seem to be unable to roll their sleeves up and do the hard work.
I think that Brian Noble may be on borrowed time anyway if the club changes hands - a new owner may want a new coach. Personally I think that we need to get rid of the under performers and unmotivated players in our side.
It looks as though DW may have to take the RFl to court to safeguard our SL status!
We were 4th on the table before the deduction and lost at Saints by 7 when we could have won. Weve been let down by MO and DW. NObby has done a remarkable job with the squad he has. The squad is small due to problems we have with the cap.
So stop blaming coaches plz. We do that all the time When apart from IM the problem is not the coaches its the owners.

If we are discussing the coaches capabilities then there have been plenty of similar performances to the last two games throughout the season before any points deduction.
Therefore the points deduction can not be used as an excuse for losses to HKR at home and away to Hudds and Quins where the team did just not turn up.
The team know that their season is over and Nobby is trying to firefight from 9th in the league instead of pushing for a better play off spot.

If the team had pulled its finger out earlier in the season they could have deducted more than four and our season would still not be over.
If the players have been affected by the points deduction they have a very selective view of why we currently have 18 points.
In a nut shell they have lost us a darn sight more than four points by totally unacceptable performances earlier in the season.
The inconsistency is not new and given the cup had nowt to do with the league that loss is even more frustrating as they had it in their hands to take the season on even further. I mean do you honestly think our side was capable of a GF appearance from 4th in the league? That ambition was never on this season so if the players let that being finally extinguished by the points deduction affect their performance in the cup game they are as deluded as some fans who think we have a good squad.
As to Nobles role in all this well I think the players are most to blame but he is not blameless with a couple of very poor signings when the team needed a replacement for Logan more so and also a subs policy that seems to run by clockwork rather then by game situation.
No reason to sack him though and I doubt a new owner would.
There is no doubt however he needs to get this sorry bunch of losers to play like they did v Bradford and Leeds not like they have done in the last two games or like v HKR.

The thing is Dave whilst we did lose some shockers early on it could be argued that there was a bedding in period for the new signings. The fact is we have made progress - albeit erratically - all season and had 4th slot entirely on merit. Moreover, with the form we had showed in our previous 3 games it could be argued that we were probably rated higher than 4th.
I haven't discussed the points loss with any players but I know for a fact Nobby had been told by Mo there was nothing to worry about. I would naturally assume this was relayed to the players. Imagine, then, how they must have felt when thet plummetted to 9th after playing their guts out.
Next game up after this is Catalan, a team free from any worries and with nothing to lose. The build up for more than a week was literally everybody v Wigan, so big pressure. Especially after Mo's "it's written in the stars" crap.
We make a dreadful start and everything Catalan do comes off. We fight back well in the second half but it isn't enough and we lose the only realistic chance of silverware we had. After a series of body blows like this, is it any wonder we went down to Wolves who, incidentally, have now scored 40+ in their last 4 games?
I know the players aren't blameless but neither are they wholly to blame.

We have lost 11 games this season. 22 points down the pan only two of which were lost after the points deduction.
So out of a possible 44 points we have dropped 26. 22 down to the team and four to the salary cap loss.
I don't expect to win every game but there were plenty of winnable ones in that 11 which would have meant the 4 point deduction could still have easily left us in 4th.
Inconsistency has been the bugbear of the side this season and it has gone on far too long to be excused away by the team bedding in. For example when we looked to find some form before the international Geoff and I predicted we would revert to poor form after the break and we did. What did Mo & Co have to do with that? Nothing.
Blaming our current plight on the administration leaving us with four points docked and any psychological knock on of that is too easy an excuse IMO when the real reason is the team has not been good enough all season.

But the reason we are 9th and not 4th is down to the administration, isn't it?
We have never won at HJ. Wolves have rattled 40+ in their last 4 games and have been home and dry by half time. Even on top form that game was going to be tough so dropping those points was no surprise, though the scoreline was.
As I finished off previously that the team is not wholly to blame, then obviously neither are the administration.
