Well the sounds of your posts you wont be getting behind him, Im getting behind him because for me this year he has been consistant more so than Fielden who has still to convince me, And according to some sections is a God. :conf:
But its the team im getting behind and certain players will get special treatment with positive chants etc regardless of other views.

To give him his due he has been excellent in the last 2 or 3 games BUT the nagging doubt remains that his lack of pace sees many opportunities lost. He has took the ball up strongly and his defence is generally good. However, like many I think centre is our weakes position attack wise and with Trent you need people who can make the most of his passes.
The frightening aspect is that centres are hard to find and British ones (Quality) are incredibly rare. Cooper of St George would be my ideal replacement.
I am desperately hoping Goulding keeps improving and comes through to be a regular first team centre.

Not a case of getting behind him no one cheered louder than me when he went round snailboy(wellens) to score but your thread was about if I would give him another contact ? NO , as for getting behind the team thats a question you don't need to ask and as he is part of the team well :eusa14: :eusa15: :eusa9: :eusa7: .lancaster077 posted:

danny orr did the same thing! not really up to what i expected and when he knew he was going started playing great? d.v should not be offerd a new contract at wigan he is to expensive and not consistent enough. either bring in an acadamy lad and give him a shot or sign someone else.
dont let your victories go to your head or your failures go to your heart

And it has happened many times before. Brett Goldspink and Brady Malam were both utter garbage until it was announced they were going, then suddenly they both started having the kind of impact we'd been promised when they signed. But no matter what they did, it was never going to be enough to justify giving them new contracts.the grinch posted:

DV was on a massive contract for such a young player, we were promised the earth considering he was on money that was going to set him up for the rest of his career or some such thing. We've not had value for all the hype and money, even if he is now finally starting to play like a decent centre. I'll wish him well when he goes, but he won't be remembered for long.

My original post was HAS ANYBODY HAD A CHANGE OF HEART about him, Not give him a new contract, As he is the most maligned player at the club by a very long way.IMO i think its been unjustified this year with so many people jumping on the band wagon and looking for something or somebody to blame for some inept performances.
Are people going to realise hes been good for us this year and even better in the playoffs or continue to jump on the band wagon and malign him this is the discussion not "Would you give him a new contract"
