I'm the Deputy Finance Director at a local Hospital (not going to name it) and I have been notified that all communications relating to outstanding amounts owing to us for treatment given to their players must be routed through their Auditors.
They are definitley in the hands of administrators with a small "a" - not sure of their long term financial viability on the basis of this.

I hope this is not true, but everything that i am hearing spells trouble for Widness.
Another one of our founder teams struggling and not getting any help, what could they have done with a fraction of the money that has been wasted on London/Harlequinns?

thats the story going around! and terry o'conner said on tv before the game with cas that if widnes didnt win they would be in bad shape to continue maybe have to go part time. if this is true its a massive blow for the game widnes in the 70s and early 80s where the team that won everything. sad day if true.
Lets hope the RFL get on with it, and allow 14 teams in SL. Both Cas and Widnes deserve it on merrit, plus fan base. I am realy gutted for Steve McCormack, 4 attempts in 4 seasons now gone begging. He always puts in a bucket load of effort and work to whatever he does.
Dont know what you guys think, but I am not in favour of the likes of Celtic Crusuaders being 'fast tracked' into SL. Whats your thoughts?

If Celtic satisfy all the criteria, then definitely. It's not really "fast-tracking" in that sense; they're working under the same rules as everyone else - if they are able to do it faster than others, well done to them.
As I see it, the "traditional" clubs have hade a century or more to get their act together; if they haven't done it by now, they never will.

Which raises two points:
1. Yet another failure of the salary cap as originally intended?
2. Will the RFL bail them out as they did with London? If not, why not?

A bit harsh really.
There by the grace of God....
A few seasons ago it may well have been us. Widnes have been badly treated since the inception of SL, being relegated 3(?) times while never being the bottom or the worst team in the comp.
Consider this and think of Huddesfield, the bail out of Hull Sharks, LONDON and Catalan last season.

good news for widnes there are two local business men intrested in taking them over. but i think they will be facing a 9 point deduction from the begining of next season and maybe they will still be part time. but hey at least there will still be a widnes and if they can get a franchise deal together they stand every chance of getting back into super league.
