I may have spelt 'contrary' wrong.

I for one, although he scored, will not applaud that. I will never cheer him in any GB side as he is not British. This is not racism it's nationalism and what does it say to our youngsters?

Appauled.

Great Britain is one of the major national teams playing rugby league. The team is administered by the Rugby Football League (RFL), and is commonly nicknamed the "Lions" or "Great Britain Lions". The RFL has announced that after the 2007 All Golds Tour[1] the Great Britain team will be retired, and that players will be able to represent England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland at the Test level. It is planned that the Great Britain team will come together only for occasional tours, similar to the British and Irish Lions Rugby Union team, such as the one planned for the Southern Hemisphere in 2010.

Thats part of my argument though, If Barrett was eligible there'd be no complaints on here. Andwe've used loads of loopholes to get players that don;t count on the quota. Rules are rules and you use them your advantage.

I've no problem with Mary playing for GB, but only if he has become a British Citizen.
But he hasn't become a British Citizen. He only qualifies because he has lived over here for 4 years. IMO that should not qualify someone to represent that particular national team, no matter what the sport is.

Maybe like Ancient and Loyal, I am too patriotic / nationalistic. If I was good enough at a particular sport, I can't imagine representing a country other than England/GB, even if it was the only way I was going to receive national honours.

If GB has an Aussie coach why not have a Somoan forward?
