I believe there is a lot of emotion directly after his death concerning naming things after Mike. Of course we all want his name to remain in the game for a long time (renaming south stand, man of steel etc...) but to be honest the best that could happen is a fundrasing high-profile match (pre-season) in honour of him... perhaps a permanent fixture each pre-season.

As i said earlier i posted this on RFL Cherry and White one of the mods on there has contacted the RFL about this .The reply coming back from Redhall was that in the past a lot of ex players had passed away and all could have been accredited with this.
I wouldn't have expected anything more from the PLONKERS at red hall. Of course many other players have died, but how many former GB captains have passed away at the age of 43 ?

Signed,

I think the reason why Mike is so deserving of this is because of the way he conducted him self throughout his career and how he faced up to his illness as he always had a smile on his face, did not feel sorry for himself and put others first,

RFL get something sorted!

Keep Wigan "Wigan"

I signed and then it went onto payment so went off it but then read that you dont have to pay, so went on again and signed, but just looked and have my name on twice. Should have looked before to see if it had registered my name. Well its done now anyway.

Currently 325 names on the petition.
There are a few duplicated (probably by error).
no reply from the RFL as of yet (emailed them yesterday)

Now past the 500 mark.
As advised, spread the word and put on other sites.
