From a fans point of view it would be good to bring back the boxing day friendly against St Helens however from the coach and players point of view it probably isn't the best time to have a friendly.

As soon as pre-season training starts the players work flat out, they might get a short break for Christmas but a lot of the players will probably want to enjoy themselves on Christmas day rather than having to prepare for a rugby match, even friendly matches require some preparation.

I think a game would be good, i think something like wigan under 21s vs a leigh team would be good. That way main teams training isnt interupted. Also make it a game with unlimeted subs to make it easy on players.

Or how about ex players with ex sl players vs rest of world. Bit of fun
