Yes, I know it is not Ganson's fault for having to give penalties, (as the players force him to) but I mean 28 penalties in EIGHTY minutes?!?!

Come on!!!

Imagine a Wigan/Saints derby with that many penalties in, we'd be lucky if the score board for any team got in double figures!!

I absolutely despise Ganson.

BUT...... I am truly worried when he comes to our end at every game to warm up before kick off and he loves it when Wigan fans give him flak.

Its almost like he is thinking, I am going to stuff you lot tonight.

Because any ref that has to give out a total of 28 penalties in the game isn't refereeing it correctly by definition. It is too simplistic to say if the players don't do it they won't get penalised. The ref needs to control the game to get the players to behave.
I hate ganson like anyone else in superleague, but he was stamping down his authority as a referee with giving penalties (which were penalties).
Can't have done. If he had authority the penalties would have stopped. Last week Silverwood sin binned TL pretty quick in the game and we stopped messing about. When Bradford started the same he sin binned one of their players. So we ended up with fewer penalties in the game as the players knew what to expect if they carried on. 28 penalties says the ref has not imposed his authority at all.
Wigan really need to improve their discipline if we want to progress in superleague. We could have easily won that game if we didnt give away rubbish penalties for holding down, offsides. You don't even see them in Under 13s rugby.
I am sure Wigan and Wire gave penalties away that were penalties and it needs to stop but if they keep doing it for same thing such as lying on over and over the ref needs to sort it out quick and within the early part of the game.

Sorry to say that our pack were found wanting tonight. The Wires pack made yards for fun and our yardage/completion were pretty poor by comparison. Barrett was quiet but he needs the forwards to make a platform - and they didn't.

The only player who didn't disappoint for the second week running was Hock. If he can keep up this form, I'd like to see him get a game at loose forward - he offers much more creativity in attack than O'Loughlin.

Agree with the comments about Ganson. The penalty count tells its own story. But despite that, we were second-best by a long way tonight.

Anybody who thinks that game was under control needs to thank the players. Towards the last quarter had the players not restrained their natural inclinaton that game could have blown up big time.

I thought ganson wrecked the game! he knew both teams would come out firing and wanting to get the best out of each other so i think i counted 3/4 penalties in the first minute! as a big game, if he was a decent referee he would of let the game flow and let the agression kick in. It just proves ganson should be refereeing whitehaven and not wigan and warrington.

With regard to the hatred shown by the Warrington fans, I have not been to an away derby between the two teams for a number of years and I have never witnessed as much vile hatred shown. My son and I were in the West Stand in the corner where filth was spewing out of the Warrington "supporters" mouths, both by blokes and women alike and they had their own small children with them as well. I'm glad I don't have to put up with that "cattle market" culture every week,I'm no prude but I will not be going there again for a few more years.
I don't think the mood was helped by the tanoy sounding out "innocent" music when the Warrington player got sin-binned, and "guilty as charged" music when Mcillorum got sin-binned.
£17 to stand up in one of the "ends" is not my idea of value for money either, supporting my team is one thing but there are limits. :(

If king Trent carries on like this i think i would rather see his contract end at the end of the season rather than have a nother year with us (or is it up anyway?) what is the point of having a star player who doesn't get into gear for the first 7 or 8 matches just because it's cold, he was the same last year, excuses where given out weekly, saying he had a dodgy leg, i would rather have a player on the money he is on give his all for the full length of the season, the same with Feka, his barraging runs aree fun to watch but what use is he after a 20 minute stint, get rid and get an impact prop who can at least put 60 in when needed, also get rid of Lockers as captain, and move him into the second row, move Hock to Loose Forward as some one else has already stated!!

lockers had a poor game which was highlighted by hocks display.A switch of position might be worth looking at.stu fielden aside our props where poor, and Coley did seem to be stopping before the tackle. Paul johnson's try ,the pass to him was at least 4/5 yards forward. One more thing if the refs start penalising wrong play the ball there will be 60 penalties a game, we need disapline and to complete our sets, stating the obvious arn't i pity the team does catch on

I think all this coley bashing is a bit unfair. does nobody notice the amount of tackles he puts in. his work rate is immense. be fair
