Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

send emails to the rugby weekly's . If it is true that the BBC 'didnt like Oldham v Wigan' or something, then fine them and the rfl

Surely this constitutes some sort of fraud? I can't believe that it is legal for the RFL to arrange a draw?

Let's hope that this gets the publicity it deserves

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

I was going to say that the whole thing makes the RFL look like a bunch of lying, incompetent tossers...but then I remembered Nigel Wood's in charge.

Well the guardian deems it worthy of coverage.

From Mike's link
The BBC also sought to reinforce the message. A spokeswoman for BBC Sport said: "The draw was done live on set in Television Centre at 6.51pm. There is no question it could have been recorded anywhere else earlier in the day. It was not dress rehearsed."
This sort of comment only makes it look like the draw was tailored for a certain broadcasting corporations requirements!

No comment from Offiah as yet - as I would assume that he would know if the draw was recorded.

The claim by the RFL that it was "Spooky" that the draw was guessed - is patronising - so standard RFL protocol there. If it was guessed then I would expect it to be one of lots of guesses; not someone saying - this is the draw. The odds of someone claiming to know the draw and then being proved right seem too great.

With all the dial-in scandals TV stations have been facing recently; I would imagine that the BBC will be very keen to avoid any more trouble.

The problem is - who do we report this to that will take an interest? If the draw was fixed - then have the RFL broken the law? Would a local politician fight it on anti-corruption issues?

I am sure that the RFL are hoping that this will go away - we as fans, should make sure that it doesn't; if only to try and ensure that it doesn't happen again and that the people that did it are punished.

Altogether now……

We know it’s fixed, it’s fixed
We know it’s fixed, it’s fixed
We know it’s fixed, it’s fixed
Yes we know it’s fixed

My second email:
Hi Marc

Thanks for your email,

Can I please reiterate that the draw was conducted live on BBC NEWS CHANNEL at 6:50 as previously stated,

As always the draw was conducted in a professional manner by my media colleague who as I have stated was traveling down to London at the time these posts appeared on the internet,

If you would care to contact BBC they will tell you exactly the same,

I hope this helps

Nick

the odds are a lot higher than what Mike said once you get home and away and in correct order right

Nope, they are 1/1680 to get all four draw correct in the right home and away order (although the poster did not quite get this right, one was the wrong way around).
