I am going to say something and think before shouting garbage. Secondly, it helps if you have played a lot of team sports. Scruton is not a dirty player BUT he did a braindead and potentially very dangerous spear tackle. Sending off fine. However, anybody who has played sport will tell you that when the referee starts making one team feel hard done to, these braindead antics tend to follow. Frustration makes people do stupid things.
Mr Ganson was somewhat helpful to Saints the more the match progressed. I think rarely will Leeds be hammered so heavily in the penalty count at Headingley. The most farcical being Long twice pushing a Leeds player over and still getting the penalty. The 10 yards? very skinny.
I think all that has been proved is that home town referees are something we do not need.

I thought exactly the same thing - with the way ganson was ref'ing it was only a matter of time before something like that happened. Furthermore, whilst it was Scruton that picked him up; it was Bailey who made sure kfc landed on his head. Had that not occurred and Scruton been sent off; then it was a pretty much a dead cert that a punch up was on the way.
stains got away with just about every infringement going - how long was allowed to use his knees to push someone over and was then awarded the penalty is anyone's guess. At that point I would have paid a thousand pounds to see a repeat of the remodeling job that Newton did (or twice that to be allowed to do it myself

)
The singing from the south stand referring to Ganson and his favourite hobby was as loud as I have heard on the tv - while sky's geriatric dancing monkeys (accompanied by the most punchable muppet in RL) whipped themselves into a state of frenzy about kfc
Over the course of the game, the scum deserved to win; but the member of the fan club in the middle of the field, who looked like an over-ripe grape made sure of it

The only reason the RFL have allowed refs who support teams to ref them is because they have ended up with too few full time refs. The pool is too small and I dare say its because they can't afford any more.
They compound one error with another. The idea they are professional doesn't come into it IMO. This will always leave the refs open to accusation. Any error they make, especially a crucial one will leave them open to the accusation of bias and it is for this reason never mind fear of actual bias no other top flight sport I know of employs a supporter of a team to officiate in their matches.
It's just stupid.

Exactly Dave. However, the fact that only 3 matches have been officiated by home town referees in 100+ matches suggests that the initial reasoning was not even valid and as you say a wider pool, maybe 1 more FTer would make it unnecessary.

I completely agree with most of the comments about Ganson
1st of all the ref is put it an unfair position, he may over penalise the team he supports (not that I have seen Ganson do this.
2. I'm not saying Scruton should only have been put on report but if it had been a Stians player I think 100% is would've been 10 minutes and put on report.
3. Give Stains an inch and they'll take a mile because they are a world class team, Ganson should not be allowed to ref these games

Not sure if all this is 100% true but according to various people; Ganson gave another Saints fan a lift to Leeds and he coaches a primary school RL team which happens to contain Daniel Anderson's children.

Not sure if this is 100% true or not; but ganson is a fat, self-righteous, arrogant stains muppet who couldn't referee to save his life...
