So what you are saying Massive T is that at Bradford, Fielden was carried, and made to look good, by the other props in the side?

Dobson did more to save Wigan from relegation than Fielden, all he was really responsible for was the docking of points for breaching the salary cap. (Not his fault directly I know, that was the board, Uncle Mo etc.)

I was really pleased by the signing of Noble, and he had a massive influence after Basil had destroyed all team spirit in the dressing room. However we have not improved since then and have gone backwards in some areas. The selection of his out of form best buddies has been well documented in other threads

Fielden is useless, end of story.Dont make excuses for him. As for saving us from relegation, rubbish.Everyone played their part and Nobby repaired some of the damage done by Millward.

Welcome to the site, MassiveT!

You'll be picking up a few pointers about other site members' attitudes already, no doubt.

If you want a nice, long thread just mention Stu (I agree with you, by the way) and if you can manage to drag in Nobby and Richard Mathers as well, so much the better - the thread will go on for weeks, though it won't necessarily develop much.

Don't let the barstewards grind you down.

how can people say we haven't improved when the season hasn't finished???

If we get to the grand final we still probably won't have improved according to some people. People expect miracles over night and that won't happen, we're building a squad and I think there has been improvement this season.

Last season after 17 games we where on 18 points

this season after 17 games we are on 19 points

There's improvement :)

On the Fielden point.

He was a DEVASTATING prop at Bradford and regarded as amongst the best if not the best in this position in world RL.

Now he can'tmake the England squad.

It is still an improvement!!! what more do you want???

I think fans of this club expect more because of our history. ppl need to be more relaistic. out side of the big 2 (leeds and scum) We are up there with the chasing pack. Last year we finished 6th this year we look like a team that will finish 4th. A game in hand with 7 out of last ten at home this is the kind of run in that should see us finishing 3rd or 4th. Catalan may have peaked too soon. Saints are peaking now and Leeds looked off the boil the other day.

We need to find some form and start climbing that league ladder. I think catalans will drop their form soon. They are still catchable. I think finishing 3rd would be a good effort. Anything lower then 4th and the play offs become impossible. 7th is just .......
