I seen those lads getting fit for a fifth of the pay Wigan players are on and at the end of the day they go to put their lives on the line.
Any R.M. pt will get them in to shape double quick. No jolly's abroad next year - get them to a boot camp.
See if they can run 15 miles with a telegraph pole on their shoulders. They will soon understand teamwork then.
Tripe!

at the forum last night one thing that interested me was that we have one conditioner compared to 3 of the other big clubs like saints and leeds. This in my opinion is where we are falling down. If we had another 2 conditioners our fitness would significantly improve as each conditioner could work on specific parts of fitness with the team ie. weights, running

Heard steve hampson is in negotiations about coming back and I also hope pongia is being spoken to.

again we need to be patient, if we take what IL said as to be correct, firstly Wigan needs to make more money in order to hire fitness coaches... It seems Hampson is 80% here so that would make 1 coach... i would also expect another coach in the off-season probably not a name we have heard of (ie ex-player) more someone with a degree or relevant experience.

Also, it is upto the players to watch what they eat, run/ cycle at home etc... not just in Orrell.

It's a vicious circle isn't it? In order to increase fan base and income we need more sucess and in order to get more sucess we need more conditioners and in order to get more conditioners we need more money and to get more money we......

Given IL has invested in the club as a fan in these turbulent times, surely he should perhaps be speculating to acculumate in the longer run?

Very good point, the players need to have motivation to do extra training and eat the right diet. After all the coaches can't have their eyes on them 24/7, the players need to take some responsibility with their lifestyle and how far they want to push themselves.

A problem is Forshaw, maybe perhaps not Forshaw himself but for me eprsonally hearing he covers 3 teams and upto 70 hours per week... that is too much for one man with a bit of help!

although forshaw might not be seen to be ideal, there seems to be some suggestions as to why the players are seen as unfit... not enough time on them? fatigue on forshaws part? not enough time to try new methods or change this change that instead of saying "its 1 pm i need to be with the 18s now" so yes, new coaches are ital but will take time.

You can add extra assistants but if they have to work under Forshaw or are no better then all you get is more of the same. Wire were glad to see the back of Forshaw.

If the coaching team are not world renowned then they are not good enough for Wigan RLFC.
