had this come from anyone else i'd say on your bike!! but WW has been a consistant pool of good and correct information when it comes to wigan. Is this part of a swap deal for Carvell?

As has already been said; if Feka doesn't want to leave then they can't sack him or swap him - it would be illegal.
If they were to try and sack him for being out of shape; I can't see that standing up in court and there would surely cause outrage amongst the fans.
Calderwood has been left out of the side for large parts of the last two season - why haven't they done the same to him - if it's that easy?
Could this be yet more stirring from certain quarters to try and generate dislike for IL?

As wiganforever states, ww is normally is fairly reliable and not 'my grans neighbours second cousin heard'.
if he is correct with this one then it would be surprising given we have supported feka through his trial (and if other rumours are to be believed, not pressured him into losing his spare tyre) and it would seem an odd moment to get rid. however, it has also been stated numerous times on here that he is on silly money and is one of the highest earners at the club for playing half a match a game.
we know that we're struggling with the cap to make space to bring in new players- perhaps getting rid off feka, calders and trent will free up some big space to bring in some big names along with some more squad players to strengthen the thin squad. however, this would be a daft time to be trying to bring in new players as the 2 new teams next year will have money to burn to try to get somewhere near competitive.
if we don't sign up some big name superstars though to replace feka, i think IL and co will be undertaking a very silly pr move with the wigan fans considering he is a big fans favourite.

As we are in the market for another prop I don't see the sense in letting another prop go so we would need to find two?
Unless Wigan think it makes more sense to spend teh same cap money on a prop who plays 60mins rather than an impact prop and we use Prescott & O'Carroll at the same time which IMO leaves us 1 prop short still.
I think it may just be a fallout from teh IL forum thing.....

Given WW track record then id guess hes knows what hes talking about, then it looks like we have Carvell for next season onwards. As in the forum even IL said we needed props and to let Feka go and not have a good quality prop coming in would be a major step back.

Not really bothered if it is true just as long as we get carvell to replace him.Not enough field time by feka for me.I know he's popular by some but i would much prefer someone who can last the pace every game. :conf:

I believe Feka is too much of a luxury at present, as mentioned we need a player who can go out there for 60 minutes not 20 max. Fair enough he is working on his fitness and had a better game against Hull, as they all did. I would say to him, prove you can perform for 60 mins on the field by the end of the season then consider his future.

The problem is, is he a luxury due to the player himself or the coaching staff. We transformed Inga in a matter of weeks. Feka has been here an awful long time and has got worse under Forshaw.
As it stands we only have 2 forwards who create tries and he is one.

Feka has been told only recently by one of the players that he is going, so Feka asks the club about what he has been told and the reply was yes we are letting you go and Hull are to agree a contract with you very shortly. Feka informs the club that he does not want to leave and said he will accept less money to stay. The club say no you are going.
Very odd. This was published in the WEP on the 4th July.
Wigan have strongly denied speculation
that Iafeta Paleaaesina could be on his way to Hull.
Warriors coach Brian Noble has shot down reports that the big Kiwi could be part of an exchange deal that would see Hull prop Garreth Carvell taken on board at the JJB Stadium.
Carvell caused a shock yesterday when he suddenly changed his mind the day after agreeing a three-year contract to stay at the KC Stadium.
The player is a free agent again and has been linked with a swap deal with Paleaaesina.
But Noble said: "We know nothing about this and it's nothing to do with us, it's just more speculation.
"Iafeta is contracted to us until 2010 and is part of our long-term plans."
However, Paleaaesina is not part of Noble's plans for the clash with Leeds Rhinos at the JJB tonight (kick-off 8pm).
The Test prop has been ruled out having failed to recover from an ankle injury so misses his first game of the season.

I cannot see how the club can "force" an unwilling player to sign for another club, especially when that player has 2 years left on his contract.
The fact (if it is that), that Wigan have an "interest" in Carvell, only "muddies" that situation, in that unless the initial deal that Carvell signed is either ruled "null and void" or is not legally binding for whatever reason, he would not cost anything anyway (apart from his contract). If the "deal" is firmly signed and legally binding (remember how Hull dealt with Paul Cooke on contract deals

), then some "arrangement" would have to be made.
If this was a player swap, then to force a player to go, is as illegal as the assumption Wigan would not have to pay Hull any compensation (if Carvell's contract was legal).
If Wigan deemed Feka a "free-agent" or were releasing him from his contract for reasons of fitness or because of his appearance at Court, then the player concerned could sign for stains of Bulls or whoever he wanted to, irrespective of who Wigan actually preferred him to sign for!
