A "bacterial virus", according to Nobby in the WEP! I'm no doctor, but I've never heard of anything like that - bacteria and viruses are two totally different things. As Mike says, antibiotics don't work on viruses.

"It was a bacterial virus in a hip, and we are just thankful the medical staff did a terrific job getting him to hospital so quickly, putting him on a drip and making sure it didn't progress to something worse.

sounds like a bacterial infection - probably caused by a cut close to his hip becoming infected and reaching the bone. Not a virus!

Even though it wasn't actually a bite. If memory serves, he got it after a swinging arm nearly took Martin Gleeson's head off. I know what you mean though.

But Gleeson's tooth was embedded in his arm and wasn't discovered for quite a while and ended up being very serious for Ainscough, think he nearly lost his arm.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Didn't they post the tooth back to stains - or is that a myth?

I remember Ainscough nearly lost his arm - was a really nasty one.

I was joking about him being bitten! But then you would expect a bite would from a stain to get infected!
