How much does Fielden earn? Anyone know for sure?

Fielden is earning his money now.
Rather than ask how much does he earn, ask yourself the question, how much does Long RECEIVE? and whatever your answer is (conservative estimate £200,000) multiply it by at least 5 bacause Sculthorpe, Cunningham, Wellens, Pryce must be on the same. Then add Meli, Gidley, Tallau, Graham, Roby, Wilkin, Cayless and Gilmour aho must be RECEIVING very similar amounts. Then ask yourself the question, How do staines get away without salary cap infringements?

He is our highest earner. The exact figure I do not know.

I would've thought Barrett earned more, but I haven't seen the players' salaries so I cannot comment

I presumed so too but that is not the case.

It reminds me of that loaves and fishes, feeding of the 5000 story from the bible.

By systematically under-declaring their gate and paying players top up cash in hand. :shoc:

When they move into their new ground and move towards an electronic ticketing system I think we'll see some sharp adjustments in their squad quality.

I for one will not be watching Wigan again this season, I have waited for a few days to see if my view will change before saying this after that shameful game against Leeds.
Totally agree with you. Trouble is, we have both been saying that for years now, ever since the end of our 'Glory Days'.

We still keep going though don't we?

And we'll both be there again next season. And the one after......

And this time next year, we'll be on here with the same old bloody moans and groans!!

Remember, this is the highest paid player at Wigan RLFC, probably in the top half dozen of the entire SL. Does his form good or bad justify his salary? NO. I wonder how he weill fare v Saints?
You keep re-iterating this point CP, yet there will always be someone at the top of the "pay-pile". What exactly has how much any club paying any player got to do with "form justifying salary". Do any players justify there wages? I bet if you were a Cas fan, you would probably say no. (Heaven help those at NL sides  ).

Perhaps Wigan should have been relegated under Ian Millward, then you would have been happy to see all the "expensive" players become "free agents" then Wigan could start afresh, paying (and playing) all those "precious youngsters" remaining the minimum wage to play first team for the club.

It is very simple BM, I expect the highest paid player in any club to play to a standard commensurate with his ranking as the highest paid player. Ellery Hanley managed it. Andy Farrell managed it. Darren Lockyer manages it and so on and so on.

And every player got released re relegation ;) which of course can no longer happen.
