He was awful!! It's a bad do when Hemmings is asking "What's up with Mathers? he didn't even make an attempt to catch that."
He needs someone, possibly Radlinski, to be brought in to teach him from the very basics, how to be a fullback!
And the psychological/confidence building bit doing as well.

edit
just been reminded about the immense effort in the "new world record video ref decision". Fantastic effort, so maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but he still needs to learn to catch a high bomb.

We don’t have a chance next year, not even a slim chance with Mathers at full back. I still believe in Noble but he has got it completely wrong retaining Mathers for next season. I think we can only hope he can loan him out if we can find a fullback who can do better and to be honest it is not going to be very hard to find one.

Hang on! He was a top full back when Radlinski was still playing!

If he needs Kris to teach him at this stage, something must be very wrong!

I know he was, and he was great, but he needs somone to take him back to basics, and instil some confidence. Lets call it a refresher course then, he needs something doing, 'cause we're stuck with him, so he needs to improve.

Two points I would like to make:

1) If he would be agreeable, and not feel patronised, I would be all for it.

2) What an excelllent way of bring KR back into our game!

But I think it is just a dream, albeit a very pleasant one!!

It was Leeds home ground. There was lighting problems at that end. Leeds knew that. No matter how good you are you can't catch what you can't see. The ball was kicked to be dlind to the fullback and it was.

Richie Mathers was never a good fullback.

Statistics show that he had one decentish season when he scvored 14 tries which is actually not that great compared to even Slug Wellens.

Does Noble car share?
