could you extend moderator laws so that pm's have to be verified before they are sent?

because i am getting increasingly annoyed at this bloke emailing me about where football needs to take over as number one sport and quite frankly i could not give a toss, so he is wasting his time and my time.

Come on mods just got back from a weeks holiday and found the forum highjacked by Latics trolls and a box full of PMs i know that you have measures in place to ban them.

Right. We have some morenew measures in place.

1. You only get message board posting rights when you register. Nothing else.

2. Once you get to a certain number of posts, the mods get an email to decide whether you get any more site rights - like PMs.

I may make the board fully moderated as well - which means that all posts from new users are reviewed by mods before being published on the message board. That should make us troll proof.

Some of us have spent quite a lot of time doing just that before these new measures came in.

Was not getting at you or any other mods Dave it was more frustration when i logged on this morning to find the site swamped with the troll and 50 pms in my box.Like i said i had been away for the week i did read the thread to the mods and knew that measures were in place.

New measures are now in place for mods to decide who gets what permissions.

There are now two site modes - the normal one when we are not under attack and a moderated one when we are.

I'm working on a third mode that will prevent new users from posting at all without moderators releasing their posts. This would be very restrictive and would stop all troll attacks when activated.
