They are owned by the Rank Organisation which is a huge company.

Apparently a lot more young people are playing the game these days and you do see a lot of adverts for on-line versions. Bingo is big business believe it or not and they are a big player in that market.

Should you be correct in your assumption we are being sponsored by them I'd expect to see some involvement with half time games and so on.

Put it another way, what if Tampax were offering the club a record sum to become main shirt sponsor? The idea would probably be shocking to most hardened male supporters, but would make brilliant financial sense. So if the rumoured sponsorship is true and the money is the best the club can get - what is fan's problem with it?

it is Mecca Bingo who is the new sponsor and to me it shows we are slipping down the ladder fast.
The present board and IL have obviously not got any clout what so ever

So i will once again stay with my old none sponsored shirt

So what you are saying is that you would rather the club didn't bother with a sponsor and we just went bust and got kicked out of the league instead.
I really struggle to understand the mentality of some people on this site.

Heard of a little thing going round at the moment? It's called a recession.
I don't expect the club to divulge how much they have got, but I'd have anything to replace JJB the way we have been treated by a certain ex owner.

im happy that we have a sponsor, but my main concern is the 'Mecca' logo itself.. it looks very childish being multi-coloured and i think it will look cheesy on the front of the wigan shirt.

mecca is a multi million pound world wide organisation, jjb was just a drop in the ocean to these guys who were run by a guy who didn't give a toss about us.

Does anyone know what sort of deal other clubs are getting in terms of how much cash their main sponsor brings in?
