The officials were poor both ways. Offside became a lottery when either side was defending. The only real gripe we can have is Robinson not being sin binned for his professional foul. By the same token Hansen should have walked and needs a strip torn off him. I have no time for any player, Wigan or opposition that raises his elbow and uses it to attack a kicker kicking the ball. It was a square up in Hansen's eyes because Moore pushed Sam earlier which means it was deliberate and totally out of kilter with his team mate getting pushed.

GeoffN wrote:I think our attack was lot better than you suggest, cp, and I'd say the refereeing was a lot worse than "indifferent". Robinson should have been yellow carded earlier for pulling Lockers back when he looked certain to score, and their loose forward should also have gone for a late hit on Leuluai after a kick. Several ball steals were given as knock-ons against us, and they were constantly offside and not square at marker.
Couldn't agree more. If the ref and his assistants actually had any idea our backs would have done the damage.
Its clear that their coach has brought over the exact spoiling tactics that the NRL are so keen to stamp-out with the two refs etc.

I didn't see the Hansen incident, I was following the ball.
On a side note, I think sides are getting the measure of Sam a litle, now, particularly the way he always goes left-to-right. He needs to work on stepping off his right foot more often to keep defences guessing.

I have to say that the standard of SL seems to be going down.
Both sides had no flair. One man rugby.
Only bright spot was the punch up.
Bradford definetely made us looked better than we are the other week. I am not looking forward to a week on Thursday.

Mmm, Feka and Hock were physically dominant but the caveat with Gaz is that for all the great things he does, he makes some bad errors too. I thought Raleigh, Crabtree were physically dominant too for Huddersfield. However, what use is physical domination if you do not turn that domination even if it exists into points.
The bottom line is that in wet weather conditions points are at a premium and you get few opportunities, whatsmore when you do get them you have to take them. Moreover, in every wet weather game 90% of tries come from either kicks or players just going for the line themselves.
We played 13 v 12 and could not score. Mr Noble needs to ask himself why were we not good enough to do so.

I think some of you over stimate our attack. If Tommy and Sam are not running the ball then that to me leaves Hock and Feka as the only 2 threats to the opposition. I do not think we have an outside back that can really cut the opposition up.

Very very depressing, we are getting beaten by diddy yorkshire teams, because we dont do the basics, no dummy runners, no running into gaps, no short passes, and no backing the likes of Feka up, we are starting to morph into the Bradford team of the seventies.

The officials were certainly poor tonight, but yet again far too much one man rugby.
It's no surprise that against Bradford we moved the ball about and probably had our best game of the season, although I have to admit that currently is saying much.
Nobby has to get this group of individuals performing together, only playing as a team will our performances and league position improve.
If Mr Lenagan has any doubts whether Nobby can sort this out then he must act as further poor performances especially at home will lead to a decrease in attendance figures.

i think wigan looked really flat tonight. The conditions didnt help, but a few of the players just dont seem to get fired up.bentham was an absolute disgrace, letting Huddersfield mess about at the play the ball all game, as people posted,Robinson should have walked for a professional foul and he doesnt even look for offside. He is a useless ref on that showing. But wigan never looked like winning to me even when they had an extra man,i really worry about the derby

The first half lack of fininshing attacks off cost us dear tonight.
We had a set on their line and a poor run from sam then on the last a heavy kick and within 2 minutes they went up the field and scored.
We seem to have a very limited attacking edge, this comes from having a defensive focused coach.
Paddy is wasted at FB but saying that he needs to assert himself into the possition and become far more suportive of the likes of Feca who we know given the oppertunity like to offload,I.E like Ashton did and Rads, and at one time mathers did at leeds!!
