To become part of a Noble team is incredibly difficult. Far moreso than to lose your place if you are deemed by Noble to be his player.

People could well be correct re Potter playing mind games with Noble. A possible reversal of that would be for Noble to play Shaun on the right rather thn left wing.
That would but Smith and Ainsy on the same side, unless of course you play sam on the left, which i know you advocate cpw, are you joining in the mind games for noble you devious devil!

It is a risk and I am not a Smith fan but I guess we have to see it happen to know the pros/cons. I do not buy that weak links can be defended but if you look at Saints they do prefer to play down their right side with Gidley the go to man out wide. The big problem Smith faces whoever plays on the right wing is Puletua will be running at him. Stopping Puletua is actually not the difficulty, stopping him offloading is very difficult. I would even consider moving the second row / LF to R3 defence in our own 40.

I consider a win v Saints a bonus / long odds etc but I see Wakey as very winnable the week after.

Mind games. Bradford pummeled Ainscough's wing time after time. That was stains weekness. Even BN could see that Richards does not have the speed/ Murreyfield is wide. Phelps to loose out for SA. Bailey or Hansen the other looser, Jim

apparently so. Im struggling to see who, apart from Ainscough, Noble will leave out.

From Stevo's SKY column:
...they've also got a sensational young winger in Shaun Ainscough. He ran in four tries against Wakefield and has scored 16 in just 10 games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Noble doesn't rest him, like he threatened to do last week.

Ainscough is Super League's leading scorer and has a total of 17 tries in just 10 senior appearances but there is no guarantee that he will keep his place.

Noble, who took the decision to rest the youngster after the Easter programme, has included him in his initial 19-man squad for the trip to Edinburgh but will not show his hand until an hour before kick-off.

"That's between me and Shaun Ainscough and the team," he said.

"He did well last week. Sometimes it's about taking opportunities and he did that last week.

"(But) we have a duty of care to the players. He may or may not play this weekend."
It's Saints; we have to select our strongest side!
Exactly!

Not that duty of care claptrap yet again!

Your duty, Noble, is to put your strongest side out (which has got to include a player who has scored 17 tries) and to stop over-analysing your team selections!

Well Riddell won't be making a miraculous recovery from his 'hamstring' problem.

He's off to Ibiza on a long weekend with his girlfriend. Bad luck that, pulling his hamstring over a long holiday weekend.

Good luck for us, though. He should take a few months to make sure it's fully healed.
