I think some of the above is not strictly true. To gain a new contract Hock has to meet a number of requirements not just the obvious stay clean and two of those are to undergo a rehabilitation programme and 'to stand on his own two feet'

No appeal. Take the punishment. This is confirmed in the Wigan Observer today and by the RFL. The Observer claim nothing has been agree re his future post ban which is nonsense. He has to meet certain requirements during his ban and will signm a new contract post ban if he does so. It was agreed weeks ago.
If that's true it's an utter disgrace.

Got told Wigan would pay his morgage and give him some spenders on condition he stays clean, keeps fit and signs a new 4 year deal when his sentance is served.
Another disgrace if true.

Why DoD? There are numerous players playing RL after serving bans. Hock was in high demand even after what happened.

I feel he has had his chance and blown it.

I cannot for the life of me comprehend why the club should want to stand by an individual that has so shamed himself and brought the game into disrepute. He ought never to darken our doors again.

By the sounds of things Wigan are not going to release rugby just not going to pay his contract while he is suspended.

His contract officially runs out in November 2011 giving him about 4 months at Wigan once his ban is over for Wigan to decided whether to keep him or not.

I wouldn't be surprised if Wigan employed Hock in a 'community role' doing the training camps and stuff like that as well as 'educating people about drugs'.

These types of posts beggar belief!!!

Hock has showed no sense of any social responsibility whatsoever and to deliver any form of education you need to get one of your own first.

Just get rid of him!!!

N.B Wigan RLFC are not paying Hock's mortgage and since July he has not received any payment from his contract nor will he do so in the future.

He is not now under contract has he can not play.
Wigan will pay him some kind of wage that amounts to him being able to keep up with his outgoings (+burger sales).
I do believe if he keeps to his side of the agreement he will play for us again and that would require Wigan to have or be doing things to help him. Just what I've been told off several people, guess we will have to wait and see if he plays for us again.

He has made a mistake and is suffering from it. Hope the time goes fast and come back better than ever Gaz, at the end of the day if he does you will all change your tune if he is as good as he was
