Very true Geoff. If a player is carrying a knock rest him, give a youngster a game. Keep doing that and the squad stays fresh, gains experience and then if somebody deserves to be dropped, their replacement has some experience to fall back on and to do well at that level.

The future is bright. MM could be as important an appointment as Graham Lowe was.

He needs to be told he probably wont last in the job too long, nobody does!! There's something wrong with the club and I wish I knew what.

He also needs to get rid of the overpaid, over hyped players currently in the first team. Fielden is a spent force and has been since he left the bulls and Riddell was a total waste of money - he couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery, never mind marshal the team. Wigan have had brilliant academy players over the years and they never keep them. They let them go and replace them with imports - just think how many ex wiganers are the leading lights of all the other super league teams (Shaun Briscoe being a prime example)

Not sure what you mean by that. Noble was Wigan's second longest serving coach since we got promoted from the 2nd division after John Monie. IL stuck with Noble for the duration of his contract and while it caused IMO a lot of constant speculation and dissatisfaction with many he wasn't given the boot earlier and Wane appointed caretaker, at least it sends the signal to Maguire he ought to have the duration of his contract to do the job.
He also needs to get rid of the overpaid, over hyped players currently in the first team. Fielden is a spent force and has been since he left the bulls and Riddell was a total waste of money - he couldn't organise a booze up in a brewery, never mind marshal the team. Which "brilliant" players are these? I can't think of any who fit that description. Even Briscoe everyone's favourite example isn't, IMO, "brilliant" and he had to leave given he had Radlinski in front of him for a place and the system the RFL had in place at the time, the 20/20/25. The last player who we let go who has come back to haunt us is Sean Long. None of the others have.
They let them go and replace them with imports - just think how many ex wiganers are the leading lights of all the other super league teams (Shaun Briscoe being a prime example)
I see you have mentioned Briscoe but how long is his name going to keep being dragged up as the prime example of players we let go who we should have kept? He left SIX years ago and he is the best example anyone can come up with as players we should have kept but ignore the circumstances I pointed out that surrounded his leaving. This was also when the club had a different owner and chairman so I just don't see the relevance any more.

As to getting rid of overpaid players much as I'd like to see some of them leave and be replaced with quality players either home grown or brought in, it is unlikely to happen as they have contracts you can't just rip up.

Let`s give the guy a chance he`ll probrably need a season to get rid of our overpaid has beens anyway .
