I'd pick Hanley over Farrell he was a freak. I agree, he'd push Boston close and for the time Ellery was the bets in the world and changed the way a 13 plays largely. His try scoring record speaks for itself, especially for Bradford northern before he came here. If you go defensively one may pick Farrell ahead of ellery (or change his position to fit him in) but attackingly ellery ruled that position.
I doubt O'Loughlin, for all he's worth, will even touch upon anyone's thought for the #13 shirt.

Don't usually play these games, but here goes with a team that had a chance of playing together.
Hampson, Ferguson, Bell, Miles, Offiah, Kenny, Gregory, Skerrit, Dermott, Shelford, Goodway, Farrell (GK), Hanley (Capt.)
Subs: Ella, Lydon, West, Betts

Sullivan, Boston, Bell, Ashton, Offiah, Kenny, Gregory, Gee, Egan, Dowling, McTigue, Farrell, Hanley
Dream on

Anyone care to put together a full team of ex-Wigan players, currently playing elsewhere, who they reckon could do some damage? Lets face it, we've let enough talent leave!!

17.Clarke(wire)
I know . i know a bit overloaded on hookers but newton can play second row and clarke is pretty versatile too switching Barrett to loose forward isn't that big a leap especially as when he played for Australia they played him like an extra loose forward, to be honest very few of them i'd have back probably just Briscoe,Gleeson,Dobson and Flanagan the rest are getting too old.

Well done though. Quite a team you put together.
Last few years, I have often thought that a team could be put together of ex-Wiganers who could give the current squad a game!!
