What makes you think this? any evidence to suggest so? It seems to me that Madge's commitment is still very much with Wigan and will be until the last hooter of the last game of the season, because in my opinion he is too much of a professional to be anything otherwise. Have you not seen his manner and reactions to tries scored/conceded during games? He must be a very good actor if his head is elsewhere.kevsev wrote:Personally YES! unfortunately in my opinion Madges head is in OZ

And in the league - I am so dreading both those games, especially the CC (am I just cynical or is Briers being rested until that game) if we lose either of them, but especially the CC it will be hell on earth to live where I do, deep in the heart of muppet country. :omg: Judging by the last remark on the Hoff the record message for this week sounds like the players are worried too.josie andrews wrote:Hopefully Warrington in CC
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Part of the preparation for every single game is an in-depth study of the opposition. Its my view that our game plan each week is simply to beat the weekends opponents. Hence you will see a 'different' team against Quins than you would against say, Saints or Hudds.
Its my view that Madge likes to keep his powder dry as much as possible. Not expecting anything more than a comfortable win against Wakey unless they are spectacularly bad. Let Wire study our game against Wakey in prep for the CC. My guess is that our prep for that game commenced weeks ago!

I am not so sure about that KW. I think minor adjustment apart the idea today is a week in week out system.
Having said all that lol I do think we need to look at how Wire play and their weakness. They are very aggressive in terms of crowding and 'attacking' the ball carrier but that strength can be a weakness as they move up so quickly, too quickly IMO if you move the ball cleverly. Switching direction with passing, out pass followed by an in pass breaks down their system and as a get out of jail the chip kick works well.
The basics of completing sets, good field position still hold true though v anybody. The Wire v Hudds game exemplifies that when Hudds with a 50% or less completion made Wire look fantastic for 50+ minutes. Once Hudds sorted themselves out, Wire looked ordinary.

This one.
Right I best get off, hope to see you there on Friday and at Warrington the week later where we will really need you guys!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I agree with your analysis. I think this game is going to very tactical and we shall see who is the better tactician - MM or TS?cpwigan wrote:I am not so sure about that KW. I think minor adjustment apart the idea today is a week in week out system.

The teams we seem to struggle against are the ones who play more aggressive on the day.cpwigan wrote:I am not so sure about that KW. I think minor adjustment apart the idea today is a week in week out system.

The two Catalans game and the one against the Whinos come to mind.
We have spilled more balls this season with the aggressive hits.
I am sure Madge will be/has done his homework on this and the team get it right against Dire.
