The RFL have to face facts;
The poor Wigan-Saints crowd (which I can totally understand by the way) was the biggest of the four games.
The fans have voted with their feet. But we don't count do we?
I went, but begrudgingly as I think the playoff system as it is is pathetic.
Mediocre teams get in and all we hear from the muppets on Sky is how great a team Hull are to finish eight.
Roll on the time when they make it fourteen teams qualify for the playoffs...

I really hope Nigel Wood isn't browsing this thread as he enjoys his light afternoon snack (14 cow pies, a potted sheep and a dolphin on toast)!

I was working. Could have booked it off but i thought to myself? Pay 20 quid for a ticket, or earn a few bob!
I made the right decision.

I think it would be more cost effective for fans if play offs were built into the season tickets. Yes, there's a chance that your team may not make the play offs but isn't that a risk we take paying for a full season anyway.
I think the following needs to happen to reignite the play off system:
Drop the current top 8 and return to a top 5, as we saw over the weekend there were far too many one sided results which made for awful TV viewing. Would rather have less teams taking part but watch better quality matches.
Drop the Magic weekend, in the league season keep it to 1 home / 1 away fixture and replace Magic with a specific weekend in the season for the Exiles match so players don't have to play 2 matches in 24/48 hours.
The number of times we've played Saints recently is ruining what used to be one of the highlights of the rugby league calendar. The RFL are ruining the sports greatest derby fixture.

.
Doesn't this just reinforce what CPW has been saying all season? If the Top 8 cannot produce a decent knock out, how can we justify 14 teams in SL? No team should be able to rack up 1,000+ points in a competitive league!
Face it, our game was the only one worth watching!
But its not about quality, its about quantity ie money!

I must admit I was dismayed by the one sided results that the play offs produced:
1st playing 4th - 47-0
5th playing 8th - 42-10
6th playing 7th - 56-6
In a QUALITY competition there should not be such one sided results in a play-off of the so called 8 top sides. If just exposes the difference in depth of the superleague.

Big spectacular knock on from the RFL, ticket prices are too expensive, I wont be at Cats game, for that very reason, the RFL have never really got it,

Play offs are just a money generator for the RFL as is the whole Grand Final concept. Fans pay enough during the season without being expected to fork out significantly more for an Aussie concept which for me at least is of lesser significance than the Challenge Cup and the Leaague winners plate.

That is certainly true and more so than the CC. The clubs who get to the final of the CC make more money then they do for winning the GF. Which is one reason why IL wanted Wigan to get there.
The fact the RFL makes more money out of the GF and play offs also shows you why they are wedded to the concept.

It costs too much and I think crowds this coming weekend will be even lower. We can't make it as my son is away on a scout camp and I will be picking him up on Sunday but I think I would have a hard time justifying another £35 for tickets plus petrol costs etc.
If season ticket holders got at least one home play off game free like in the CC that would go along way to getting bigger crowds. No good for away fans but at least it would be something.

SL is simply too big which means the standard deteriorates and there are too many games to market properly by the clubs / RFL.
