Reports coming back from Huddersfield that they didn't exactly cover themselves in glory today!

The behaviour of some of their members today was disgusting. Flares and fighting amongst themselves, we pride ourselves on being a family game and yet I saw numerous families hurriedly leaving the stadium with small children in tears from what they'd seen. A couple of the instigators actually attempted to stop fans escaping the violence by standing at the end of rows.

Like I said on my Twitter feed.Nothing wrong with being loyal,or a diehard fan. This is just hooliganism though. It's ludicrous. It may not be all of the Brigantes or Ultra's whoever they want to class themselves as ,but it's certainly not what we want our fans to be.Being passionate about the game is what we want but not in the form of a drunken lout.

'Not have, but always been!'

Time the club did something about them as there have been a number of complaints about them for a while.

I recall a thread that ran for a few weeks during Maguires time at Wigan on this very subject. The drummer featured briefly on this site and gave, at the time, reasonably plausible excuses for their existence.
The concensus of opinion was that there is no need for a breakaway group of supporters to demonstrate how patriotic we all are. At the time, we were playing a style of rugby which didn't endear us to other clubs' supporters and the actions of a few fans caused problems for the rest of us when we were at away games.
Flag-waving supporters steaming through town centres' doesn't seem to happen now but drunken anti social behaviour at the away ground appears to be this years 'in thing'. We don't need that.
It seems that the Brigantes have spawned a second generation of hooligans who need reining in and if the Brigantes can't, then the club ought to step in firmly on this before it gets out of hand.
