why should the BBC chnage the scheduling when this slot has been in place for months. It's not the broadcasters fault. If Hull can play rugby on a friday and Hull fc can play football on the saturday then why can't we? answer, Dave Whelan.

Maybe it's because Hull don't play in the Premier League
The Beeb have only shown one fixture per round so why there interest in having both the Cats v Warrington AND Wigan v Saints ties all of a sudden?

The Beeb want 2 matches as the new contract for CC rights states at the QF stage the Beeb will screen 2 ties and Sky will screen the other 2 meaning every tie will be screened live on TV.

Hull City were in the Premier League and once played a match on the same day as the Rugby team. AdamMac is quite right, there is no Premier League ruling stating that the pitch can't be used 24 hours before a football match.
Whelan lost a lot of respect after coming on TV stating "I am the biggest rugby fan in Wigan" shortly after making us move a play off game to Widnes.
However given what could be at stake for the Latics next weekend, I don't blame him for taking every precaution possible.

I understood it that the premier league dictated that there has to be a 24 hour gap between games :conf:

Well I may be looking at this to simply but if we kicked off at 12.00 on Saturday and they play at 3.00 on Sunday thats not 24 hours is that not ok?

The big ? is why did the RFL not take account of the Wigan DW scenario when asgreeing to a new contract quite recently.
On this occasion, I agree with Whelan, whatsmore the RFL should have been saying something well in advance to the BBC.
