Like Adrian Morley with the vertical stiff arm on Harrison Hansen. Point of shoulder to the head, rigid arm and body weight to the chest......put on report. Blatant weak reffing. It's on utube, and lots more dubious play from Morley as well.

Ban it before someone is seriously injured. The art of tackling is skilful but charging into someone with the shoulder is not.

It will get banned when someone gets seriously hurt.

TWO EYED WARRIOR - 100% with you. If we can't rely on the refs to see fair play then that is another matter, I mention refs, as others do, but are the touch judges more at fault for not keeping up with the game and advising the ref. vociferously.(Thanks spell checker!)

Interesting outcome that probably raises more questions than it answers.

cpwigan - Do we go for the 'Wrap em up in cotton wool?'
Of course we don't, but some, sooner than later, with their knowledge and wisdom will be advocating mixed sex teams.

I like the shoulder charge personally and think no type of tackle is ever 100% safe so where do we stop? So many variables involved in every tackle.

Just read on RLFans that the ARL is/has banned the shoulder charge and moves are afoot to spread the ban to internationals.
How long before we follow?

Well I hope we do. My problem with the shoulder charge is that it is not really a tackle. A tackle aims to stop the player from moving forward and from offloading by wrapping the arms around - if you're really good, you can capture the ball one on one.
A shoulder charge just gives license to untalented thugs like Ryan Bailey to inflict maximum damage and reduce the effectiveness of an opponent during a match. There's no skill factor in it, unlike good tackling.
