Just got back, sick as a parrot. I can predict Wains interview for next Thursday, It'll be "The lads have got a few hard sessions to cope with, we made errors and we'll put them right, I can assure you it won't happen again etc, etc," and he'll throw in a few "Absolutely's". Every time we've had a close do or got beat, this is what he trots out, very reassuring but becoming boring because it doesn't improve, we just happen to play a weaker team the week following a defeat. I've supported him to the hilt, but when a sourfaced, smug, miserable sod like yon mon (Smith) gets the better of him, it's very hard to take......Rant over.

Made a post earlier about whats best, trying to win every game or picking those you prioritise to win, and put everything in to win those priority matches.
There are very few teams that would have beaten Warrington tonight, they were strong in all parts of their game.
Most worrying part is that they easily out muscled us tonight and its difficult to see where that will change, their forwards battered us.
I was impressed by Hill, he has come on a long way from his Leigh days, but Warrington have seen something good in his talent.
Possession and mistakes in a game wins matches, we made too many mistakes with too little ball.

To be fair its been coming this, after the Leeds game were we were rotten then too, this game really had only one outcome.

Out coached is the understatement of the year in this one, Wigan had no plan B and Warrington were far better in every single department. Warrington won every single individual battle, ran harder and tackled not harder but more controlled. Our forwards were choked out of it leaving the backs with nothing.

When the backs did get a sniff we were choked out again by a defence that reads our block attack like a book.

Dog boy scores yet AGAIN against us as does Myler, its becoming tedious. 5 times on the trot now in the league, last time i saw this it was StHelens doing this too us.

A 35 year old prop sould not be cleaning house as effective as Morley did with our boys, it was like Wigan made him look like he was made of granite at times only Micky Mac ( who had a stinker) put him on his arse, why wasnt it done more often?

Warrington employ second effort tackling that we struggle to cope with. Its impact, wrestle, ground, then the second effort trying to spin the player to either the side or as more than often facing nearly our own posts on the floor. Brilliant tactics.

Imo Wigan sould employ James Graham tactics, impact, leg pump 2 to 3 times then fall like a sack of cack to the floor.

Smith wasnt the only one but my god he was poor, as was Finch who is not 100% fit and to include him was a brain fart, put Powell in imo bad coaching.

We were rotten to the core every player beaten due to far better tactics from Smith and his smug horrible face, we lost this in the first 5 minutes and it set the tone right from the very start but we had no plan B which is shocking imo.

If Tomkins has aspirations in making it big in the NRL he sould take a leaf out of Mcguire and Briers book on how to play well in the big games because lets face it, when it comes too the big boys Mr Tomkins is nowhere to be seen.
Dont agree with you about Morley and Micky Mc, Morley was average in a good Wire team performance tonight and McIllorum put in everything he had.

Amazing how many posters crawl out of the woodwork as soon as we lose a game, just an observation!

Need to revert to Madge's tactics defensively and attack like we currently are and we will perform much better.

I lost count the ammount of times he beat the first defender, along with a very avarage player in Hill. We didnt stick to either but at 35 and a prop forward we sould be dominating him like we do with Peacock but it seemed we were scared of getting any kind of control over him. As for Micky im a massive fan, ive tipped him for MOS, but tonight he stunk. Yes he was playing in a beaten pack and may have gave his all but he reeked to high heaven.
He wasnt the only one, the whole team did especially Finch (not 100%) and Smith as ive said a change in tactics on the 30 min mark wouldnt have gone a miss but hey ho we dont have a plan B.
I saw Hill take the ball up well and offloaded good, as did Westwood. I didnt see Morley beat the first defender as much as you did. McIllorum put in some forward passes, amd knocked on but to say he stunk to high heaven is a bit harsh.

Look I am very new to the site but I do post regular PW and I do always try and be as positive as possible, not that easy after a performance like today but hopefully we will learn and improve again. I just think some posters find it too easy to be very cynical and not very forthcoming with praise when it is due. Having said that PW you pay your money you get your say and after all it is a forum!!
