Well done lass.
Did you have a bet on it? I only did at the last minute, was lucky to get the bet on.

I've back Willie Mullins/Ruby Walsh or Willie Mullens horses most of the time :)

I ended up burning our meal watching it online

No - didn't have a bet on it.
Can I tell a tale which is about betting, but not involving Cheltenham?
In the absence of your permission then I can tell it.

Twas Wednesday 23 March 1965.
I was walking with my two elder brothers to a church in Millgate to get married.
This is true.
Opposite the Ritz Cinema there was a betting shop and one of us suggested that were early 'Let's bob in here for ten minutes'
I am about to get married don't forget.
In the spirit of things, since I was flush with cash!!, I put 2/6d (One eighth of a pound) on a horse that was running in The St. Ledger later at Doncaster. It was called 'Old Tom'. At the reception later at The Grand Hotel, just before Jimmy Twiss - He of the transport cafe in Warrington Lane (?)- whisked me and the bride off to Wigan NW station to catch the honeymoon express to London, I learned that Old Tom had won at 33-1!!!!
I gave the receipt to my Dad and said 'Have a pint or two on me Dad.
And again I emphasise that this is true. IO have no need to bull.
Thanks for reading and persevering.
(The smart ones amongst will be able to calculate that in a few days we will have been married 48 years - seems like Man and Boy).

I backed it at 20/1, but when I was putting my selections on during the night, I saw it had gone out to 25/1 after I'd placed the bet. So it was a nice surprise to see it paid me at 25/1 :D

I don't like giving horse tips cos I feel it's unlucky, & if they don't come in, it's my fault :(

Don't even tell Stephen

But I only bet small & very rarely to win, always E/W.

Very rarely back a favourite, although I have backed horses that have gone out to favourite!

Have a penchant for grey horses & the number nine!!

Always try to get a guaranteed price too, so if the price goes down, the price you backed at still pays out.

I use William Hill & the Tote online, I never go in a bookies
