They didn't have any more angles than one long shot I would assume for Friday. Also, MM was late and off the ball, Sam still had the ball and mayeb the player thought he wasn't tackled.
Well watching the highlights on the Super League show the idea they were unsighted is ridiculous.
As soon as I saw it on the replay I thought "ban" but not in any stupid "how dare they attack Sam" biased sort of way. Purely matter of fact it looked so clear cut.
Catalans don't fare well with the disciplinary normally so to say if it was one of ours they would get treated any worse is nonsense, unless it was MM because of his bad record they would assume bad contact was made I reckon - just as if it was Elima he would be treated differently to Pelissier I reckon.
What does Catalan don't fare well with the disciplinary have to do with it? The team wasn't in the dock, the player was.
And they can't assume anything from now on. If they argue they didn't ban him because they didn't see it they can't ban players with poorer records if they didn't see whatever they are supposed to have done.
The reason I bring up Catalans record is because I'm sick of people saying
if it was a Wigan player doing it they would be be given a ban etc.
As much as the panel are inconsistent and don't always do their job properly (such as this incident), the suggestion of an inherent bias against Wigan just isn't justified. They are inconsistently for all, just like the referees are - I've stopped worrying about who is the referee because I don't think there is anything to suggest they are more against us than anyone else, they just make mistakes across the board (apart from Bentham whose unique record in 2010 when doing our games looks a bit suspicious)
Do you work for the RFL?

No. Did you read what I wrote? I don't think the officials/disciplinary are biased against the Wigan club compared to other clubs. I do think they make bad/inconsistent decisions, but I don't think they do it more or less in favour of Wigan than anyone else.
During a game I'll be as passionate as anyone and see everyting solely from the perspective of a Wigan fan, but afterwards when I sit back and open my eyes wider and try to be objective and see there are bad/inconsistent decision that affect other clubs that are entirely unrelated to Wigan and uninformed by the existance of Wigan then I find it hard to keep up the opinion that the refs/disciplinary are dead against us.

I was right next to it and the touch judge was telling Bentham the situation and Bentham was dawdling around and asking questions. Looked like the touch judge was very clear as to what had happened and the fact that a penalty was needed but hey ho - it's done now. Looked dodgy but can't change it now! Unfortunately, there's no decent comeback for bad decisions by refs........

I have to admit to sitting next to a friend who constantly complains that matches involving Wigan are refereed differently to every other Super League game.
His point specifically surrounding foul play, and that opponents "get away" with things they wouldn't do in any other game (televised or not) when they play the Warriors. How often are players sent off in games involving Wigan and how serious do they have to be before action is taken?

OK I see your point. I can accept they were not biased over this incident. Just incompetent.

No Wigan player cited this week despite the usual comments about Mickey Mac by the two Sky clowns on Friday Night.
Now, that is a novelty by the Disceplinery Panel

Could a player be cited for that by the panel? Its not like a foul that the ref missed, it was abuse directed straight at him! I'd have thought if the ref hadn't the bottle to take action, that would be the end of it. If anythin, the ref in question should be called in and asked to explain his inaction!
