"This should now help clear the way for the Zurich clubs involved to finalise this issue and we expect to conclude matters one way or the other in the near future."
It really is p!ssing me off now.
And Mike, you are 100% correct when you posted this:
"I'm very disapointed that we are loosing our best and most influential player - the one player whos leadership qualities can take the team of youngsters and new recruits that we have now and turn them into contenders by the end of the season. Without his influence the promise of the team will not be fulfilled."
That sums up his value to Wigan perfectly. It is not just his value as an experienced and physically mature player that makes his loss such a negative for the club.

Re: News on Faz!
The deal is done as far as we are concerned. The RFU have bought out his contract and given Wigan compensation. Unofficially he passed the RFU medical which confirmed our own medical. It doesn't really make a difference if he hasn't already got a club in the Zurich yet, as this will be determined later.
Scenario
- RFU given ultimatum by DW
- Need medical brought forward to meet deadline
- No RFU club ready to take him (Still need to hit deadline)
- RFU buy him - will sort out club after internationals
DEAL IS DONE
Not a great day for Wigan but we must move on now
So long Andy - Wigan legend forever

Re: News on Faz!
I think Terry needs to calm down anyway as Godwin is a good player and if Terry gets a ban i think hed get a good challenge for the hooking role.waterside glens posted:

What really gets on my f.......... nerves is that we will fix him get him back on the field and hell sod off to the Union thats a pile o fill the gaps in..............................................................DaveO posted:It is a complete joke isn't it.Dawber posted:
it says on rlfans.com that the rfu have agreed terms with wigan rugby league, but faz has to undergo another medical on his knee
If you read the quotes on the internet properly this saga is not yet fully concluded.
Here is one bit:
Robinson said: "An agreement has been reached between the RFU and Wigan, and it's now time to look at the medical protocols and the club he is going to. That has not been agreed yet."
So is there a concrete agreement in place? I don't see how there can be given the last sentance above as it look slike the medical hurdle is still there.
I don't doubt they (RFU) have decided they want him but the above looks like this means it will drag on longer then Whelans deadline.
For example Jhin also had this to say:
"...but Robinson insists he wants to concentrate on England's remaining two matches in the RBS Six Nations Championship, against Italy and Scotland.
He told a press conference at Twickenham: "After the two matches I will sit down and paint the picture for you of how I see Andy Farrell. Then you will know the club he's going to."
So they are only going to tell the world which club he is going to after England have played two more internationals which is at least another 10 days (don't know when the fixtures are).
To be honest it deosn't look like this deal has moved that much further on.
I think it is about time Wigan made another statement and a very simple one.
They should clear this up once and for all and tell us if Farrell is still a Wigan player or not.
If he is still a Wigan player by the end of today, then Whelan should stick to his guns and pull the rug from under the deal.

Re: News on Faz!
I'm a bit confused....if faz passes the medical does that mean he's definatly going? and if he fails then he isn't going? :doz:
Wigan till i die!
Re: News on Faz!
Don't be confused LiL_WaRrIoR - Faz is no longer a Wigan player.................Keep him in your memories for when you look back on who graced a Wigan Shirt. He is a past Wigan Great now, and somebody who should live long in everybody's thoughts for what he achieved and did. No matter what cloud he has left under, let us remember the last 13 years - not 30 days!!LiL_WaRrIoR posted:
