Andy Powell
Re: Andy Powell
If my memory serves me right. Wigan signed a similar type of player to Andy Powell in the late 50s /early 60s he came with the reputation of being the "Iron Man" of Welsh Rugby of course he was targeted by the opposition I think he only played about 6 games, more putty than iron.I think his name was Peter Davies does anyone else remember him.

Can Bradford keep up the good form? I believe they can but I do think the top four at the end of the season will be Wigan, Warrington, St Helens and Leeds.
A story appeared in the press this week saying Sale’s Andy Powell was crossing codes and joining Wigan. I can see why the link came about with Iestyn Harris being part of our coaching staff but the squad were told there was absolutely no truth in it – sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Re: Andy Powell
Sounds a bitlike Denzil Jones
Powell is a hard man/line breaker
Bit like Scott Quinnell, but looks after the ball better!

Same time as Mantle went to Saints, we all know who got the best bargain.
I think he played 1 game in the first team and finished the season in the A team. Went to Salford afterwards.

Sam Tomkins is going to look a bit silly if Powell has signed!
Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
