If he'd aggravated the old injury, I might agree, but you can't predict who will get injured, otherwise Davico wouldn't have played against Salford, Hock against Bradford, Orr against Widnes...
In Carney's case, without the benefit of hindsight, it would be equally valid to say he needed the match practice before the saints game.

are the nrl gunna wanna take him if he's injury prone?i feel sorry for the lad. must be really frustrating.but i agree that he has been rushed back onto the field and playing for a full 80 mins isn't the right way to go about things!!give him a chance!

He'll be fit in time to earn a switch to Australia, I'll gaurantee it, far to injury prone when your are dealing with such small squads. Let him go now and bring in a fit un.

He is good enough, leave the guy alone, hes not a winger thats the problem, if oyu play someone out of position you wont always get good results.
