It said that there was to be an announcement at 3pm
about a Wigan signing, this was at 2 30pm so don't tell me Lenagan had no idea it was coming, you are naïve if you think he was not behind it. If he wasn't he could have stopped the announcement, the radio station always informs the club if they are going to announce something or they could be in trouble, OF COURSE HE KNEW.

Ps Kaii I am also a share holder of the club I put my money were my mouth is
He still hasn't announced anything though has he, that NZ coach can say anything he wants it doesn't make it an official statement from IL. Just gossip at the moment, everyone is expecting him to leave so this barely deserves a mention nevermind it's own thread. What food factory btw

DDTFTF is beyond reproach. He is a self made very successful incredibly honest man. Rather than sniping at him focus on our club I.E IL & SW who let this debacle run and run.

BTW, strikes me our journos scour sites like this for news. Time some (99%) of them grew a set and began being journalists instead of puppets for the likes of IL & DW

While we now know it was the NZW's coach making a slip that was broadcast on Wish FM it really does just illustrate how farcical situation this has become.

With that clip actually being played on the local radio station IL's silence makes him look like a complete buffoon.

N.B NZW wanted to announce this months ago, IL prevented them doing so and even after that deadline elapsed still ludicrous silence from IL Et Al. Nor is this a one off. It is habitual!

No one is sniping at him but IL hasn't made the announcement. The question to be asked of you cp is if you cannot change this situation in any way, shape or form why get so worked up about this. This isn't about how much you love the club which is without doubt but like a lot of things in life we cannot effect this at all.
For me I'm happy enough just loving the sport and enjoying going to the match home & away, if I started worrying about all aspects of the club it would take away from the love I have for the club. It's not being a happy clapper I just enjoy myself win, lose or draw because I'm supporting the team I love, with the woman I love with my little boy who shares the same love for wigan I do. To me this is more important than if IL announces something or if Sam is thinking about leaving

I agree DavO, IL knew it was going to be announced and like I said was trying to soften the blow. Its just not good that he allows this to happen the day before a very important match at Huddersfield, very unprofessional.

No offence Kaii but don't bother commenting on people's posts if your not bothered, it's getting a bit silly on here lately with people having little pops at others (probably been guilty myself )

This is how I see it.

I have been frustrated like most about the whole situation. In my opinion it would have been easier to say earlier in the season during our 27 warm-up matches that Sam is leaving for the NRL and get it over with.

I believe that Sam has kept his silence and honoured what was asked of him from whatever party (be it IL, NZW or Agents etc)and his fate in the public's eyes hasn't been in his own hands but for others to sort out, not him.

Sam is 100% committed to Wigan in his head and loves the club as much as we do but I do believe that as the season wears on his form has dipped with 'injuries' and his head turning towards his future, but I may be wrong. I know that Sam is too big for our sport, that is a reality we have to face, and the standard of SL and the low wages (in comparison) is stopping Sam from reaching his potential. It's inevitable he will leave and do so without remorse from us fans because sadly 'that's the way it is'. All the luck in the world to him.

The farcical thing about this comes from the handling of the matter which others have touched upon. Very inept handling at that and a PR disaster. Thousands of fans are asking what is Wigan's future for 2014 when this could have been sorted months ago, as it stands with 2 or 3 games to go we fans don't know what situation the club will be in come next season with regards to signings, replacements, Sam here or there. IL we fans ARE Wigan RL not just the staff at Central Park, the DW or the players, the club is us. Be more open with us.

And we should have kept Hock and hopefully the truth will come out one day

Kaii, I have to agree with what Gilly has posted here. After being a fan and supporter for over forty years it becomes more than a family afternoon/evening out, you can get that at the cinema if you see my comparison, and that's not being disrespectful. It's a religion to me, as daft as it may sound, and whilst I don't come over as loud as some on here I not only feel the passion they have, it's a characteristic I have, I also want the same.
There are various posters on here that walk round with their eyes shut, there's no substantiation required because I used to be the same in my younger days and this serves as same, the ageing process and the experience that comes with it changes that.
We can't change anything but that doesn't mean we should swallow the medicine and say nowt.
I thought the IL takeover would be good for the club due to his supposed love and birthright, but despite our modest success, and that is all it is, given the available tools a couple of years ago, I now see him as an asset stripping businessman philandering with My Club!!
