Consistency is the key word here. I cannot think of another incident all season where someone as thrown a punch like that and stayed on the field. If that is the line the referees' are going to adopt, then they should apply it across the board.

yellow card at the very least, on report only benefited wire, no briers on the park leeds could have been in the mix, big chins second try was never grounded, how many call went the wrong way.
on the up side both team bashed each other to bits
Was it even placed on report?
thought it was but i think he only got a warning, judiciary should look at it though, he should get at least 1 match

Gaz Hock's response to this on Twitter was quite amusing. 'That would have been me it would have been a red card moment'. To which the response from someone else was 'That would have been you - you wouldn't have lasted on the pitch that long!' Ha ha
Would have loved to have seen Gaz slog it out with Briers!

That Ablett is a sly man.(Apparently it wasn't the tackle that upset Briers it was something Ablett said). Glad Briers hit him.

don't disagree, but that clown cummings said during the game that every on is getting banned for throwing punches, im no big fan of that shithouse bailey , but he got one match for the offence, then the week after huraki got off with the same thing, think the benefit of the doubt was a decent call though as it was unclear to me, but im biased against them cheating scum whinos anyhow.

What would have happened if Abblett had have punched Briers for no apparent reason? Or worst still if Bailey had punched him?
This is the clearest evidence of one rule for one, and one for others that I've seen for a long time.
Just because Briers couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper bag, shouldn't be a defence for his intent.
He was a very lucky boy.

I am sorry that is just plain wrong.
In my eyes Briers is public enemy number one so how you can side with him is just plain wrong
