and your telling me because?
cant remember who it was, i know it wasnt maurice, its bugging me now though, but somebody said that wigan should move for a huge name forward from either code right now, but i dont think we should not straight away, with the loss of lockers and hock, we've taken another nasty blow to the forwards. But hopefully there are 5 players out who will be back soon, 5 more experienced players and when these return i think it would be a great time to give maybe tomkins a chance at loose forward; i know its a big ask and all but if hes good enough to be in our squad he should be given a go. I dont know what other youngsters can play loose forward, but rads can as connelly's idea showed last year, that could give a young back like melling a run out. Losing hock and lockers should make way for at least one youngster like hargreaves, prescott and tomkins an alternative week to play, its not asking too much of them but easing them into the wigan team slowly. I think we do need some experience but building the future of wigan around the youngsters is what we always used to be about, so we should contiue this and show faith in them.

Well firstly because you seem to have a pretty good sensible knowledge about wigan rl. Secondly because your actively posting on the board.
But if you are upset by this, then please accept my apology.
I TRUELY MEAN THAT.
SORRY

we have at least five players in that squad, hargreaves, colbon, coyle, prescott and melling who havent had many games at all.
Melling was great for us last season and hes a good goalkicker so it will help tickle out a bit, for once we have a lot of backs, we never had them when we had a crisis at the start of the season!

yes, browny played through the pain barrier on friday.
Fair play to the lad.
Going back to what Mrs Carney said earlier i think its a long season and there is too much football still to be played not to strengthen the back row this year.
We have lost faz, hock and lockers from the squad at the start of the year.
Its a big ask for the young forwards to turn in week in week out.
Playing in the pack is a different proposition to playing on the wing.

I wasn't impressed with the experiment of playing Kris at loose forward last season - and I think we'll need him even more as our last line of defence now.
Wildy's got decent hands with all his experience at centre now, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of giving him a shot at 13.
Rads can still come up on the 5th tackle to take the long kicks, if we need them, but Coyle, Newton and Godwin are all pretty good with the short kicks - we mightn't miss Lockers' tactical kicking as much as we'll miss his defence - the guy seems to get everywhere!

He's in the squad, and there's only 18 of them, so it's likely. I agrre with you, I've been impressed with what I've seen of him so far, both in attack and defence. Didn't know he's played loose forward though - that would be handy!

Hargrieves and Prescott are props, colbon and melling are wingers and coyle is a half back.
What my point was is that we have lost 3 back row forwards from the squad and over the season the young lads will find it tough to perform week in week out.
Anyway, LETS NOT FALL OUT, LIFE IS TOO SHORT!
