I'm sure there is!
Yes in Auckland as a pre-season comp for the NRL teams. Not sure if it will effect the WCC scheduling

I hope so Josie I paid half a grand for tickets !
Feb the 15th /16th .......during one of the NRL trial game slots , they've dropped one trial match to fit it in.
Hopin Sam Tomkins plays in the Auckland Nines , it's a five year deal with the NRL so we should win it once in our home city with Sam here for the first three of those five years.

I was under the impression that the idea of the World Club Challenge was for it to be played in this country in order to boost publicity for our game.
I feel sure the majority of supporters will be dissapointed if it is not.
With the economy being as it is at the present and many now finding it hard to make ends meet, it is not the right time for it to go elsewhere as unlike when we went to Brisbane, more supporters now do not have the same level of finance to go and support the club.

I think the hope is media, TV and support level is greater in Aus so the match will make more money. Winning down there would get more publicity than winning here too I would imagine.
I don't think anyone is worried about whether our fans can afford to travel over to watch it, we can all watch it on TV

Cheapest flights to Sydney around that time I can find are in the £650 (pp return) range with a Chinese airline I've never heard of with stops in the Netherlands and China (32 hours travel in total).
Add another £200+ to go with a reputable airline and you still have 27 or so travel hours to endure (in economy class!)... That's if you can afford it in the first place, which I can't.
Oh well, I'm sure Sky Sports will show the game.
A headache I'd rather have than not have that's for sure as only the champions can have it!

Could be Premier Sports, they seem to do most of the Aussie games, and now the World Cup as well.
