It was a very good game to watch and encouraging for England BUT the game at the highest level boils down to field position and possession and we need an advantage in both to overcome Australia. At this level, even Aus look human when defending their own try line but we certainly cannot afford to be defending our line so much.

We can get better, we have players to come back BUT Aus will come back even better. Today was the day to catch them.

Match officials did ok IMO, only possible mistake was Hick missing a foot in touch by Aus.

Field Position & Possession - THE BE ALL AND END ALL

We had it and lose it too easily and then struggle to get it back.

After the first 20 minutes Aus were making far more metres for the 3 tackles.

Though we lost I do believe that we can make the final on that performance.Some iffy decisions by both the ref and touch judges.Especially Hicks.I agree Thiaday certain took one.Can see a one match ban for Sam Burgess.

We need half backs and a loose forward. Widdop and Lockers must play.
