Is it just me that thinks hes probably our best centre available? I feared the worst when Thornley went off, but not only was he solid, he dominated that area of the pitch. He really has impressed since signing. I didnt know too much about him, but he came with rave reviews. Would he be suited playing more regularly as centre though?

Does he have a family sure he has a child. Most of the players if not all that the NRL have taken from us and others i do not think have a very young family.

Disagree. I see second row as his best position by far. Didn't fill in too bad today at centre though

From what I've seen of him, I think he could be one of those rare players who can slot in anywhere in an emegency and do a good job!

Bateman does have a young daughter. In some respects he reminds me of Andy Goodway for his versatility but see the future Lockers because bar the passing prowess, like Lockers he can play left/right is matters not and he has the agility and technique to even defend up the middle as many LFs do now. For me above all Bateman is a natural rugby league player.

Speaking to a player that has played against him and he said the best thing about Bateman is that he couldn't give a sh!t if your name is Greg Inglis or Adam Swift he doesn't respect reputation, just wants to win ans batter people! He was class yesterday, pleased he got MOM as they usually go for the try scorers so thought Faz might have got it.

Great signing and a great replacement in the second row for Hansen who IMO has not been missed as much as some feared.
Glad Wigan had faith in him after his bad injury which it would appear deter Warrington from signing him.
