Distinctly average centre. Never Wigan class in the memory of mon. I think because we've had a few successful seasons and he's been there or thereabouts some fans think he's an integral part of that success. In my opinion, he's been very lucky to be anywhere near the side. Get rid. Along with Jordan James

How callous some of our 'fans' are :(
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Really? I don't think he is behind any of them. They all have their positive attributes but none of them are as complete a centre as Goulding is IMO. Gelling and runs himself into the ground can be make the breaks, so can Thornley but neither are great ball in hand or a wingers centre. Sarginson has good footwork but I honestly don't think he as a clue as to what being a centre is all about.
Whats your thoughts on Sarginson's best playing position.
I don't think he has got one. He's a utility player but if I had to pick one position I'd say full back. He's been a half back before and as FB that comes in handy and he doesn't have to think of his winger as a centre does.

With Goulding I think he is good in attack (when fit which I don't think he fully is) and I think he is good in defence in terms of players don't run through him.

Like I say my main issue with him is he is a bit like a moth to a flame with the ball the amount of times he jumps out the line or is caught coming in too central is poor. If he shored up that area of his game he'd be up there in the international setup IMO.

Daz is a quality centre IMO.

I don't think he is fully fot at the minute though.

Also having worked with Bitcon for a good few years he doesn't seem to have changed body shape and his shirt seems the only one not tight around his biceps.

I know everyone is different but he doesnt look as well conditioned as a lot of ohers.

Exactly this thread is unbelievable. I have always got the impression that Goulding always has to play very well just not to get stick from some fans. Phil Wilkinson tweeted a couple of weeks ago that he has a knee injury and thats why he was on the bench against Leeds and Salford and shouldnt have even played but they had run out of bodies.

Goulding is very good defensively and certainly wouldnt have been the first choice centre ever since Wane took over if he wasnt. He certainly wasn't at fault for any of the tries against Huddersfield but for some reason any try on the right automatically seems to be deemed his fault.

In attack this season there have been games when he has barely got a pass of the ball and he has been very underused in my opinion. Our left to right attack hasnt functioned all season with Bowen at full back imo.

Goulding is a cracker. Not having the best run at the moment but as they say, form is transient, class is for ever.

He'll be back to his best sooner or later.

Yet its ok for fans to slag off Jordan James, Dennis Moran etc, Sorry but if we can't chastise fans when they deserve it then we should NOT praise them when they are doing good, you can't have it one way rather than the other :eusa7:
