Re: Catalan game
Bowen outstanding. The man is simply class. James Childs best performance from a ref in a long while. Credit where credit is due. He could have sent a whole host of players off never mind sin binning. This game in my opinion was a game that needed cool heads and that is just what we got from a classy wigan side. Well played lads an enjoyable game.

Re: Catalan game
Cannot praise Wigan enough, especially the derided centres who increasingly look the best we have had in ten years PLUS , and so young. Still the same flaw ,no power in second row. Farrell looks lost ,teenager in grown ups match. CLUB and TAYLOR will be gone if not paid enough . BESTS

Re: Catalan game
Very good win. Very professional against a strong and very enthusiastic Catalan side. Good to see some of the younger lads stand up for each other and themselves without going overboard.
Re: Catalan game
Just a little quicky. Lima made to look average by (Tony Clubb) a player without much game time and a player doubted by many on this forum as was Matty Bowen.

I really don't understand your Farrell bashing!! He consistently makes hard yards, often breaks through tackles and scores tries for fun as a 2nd row! What more do you want? He has arguably been our most consistent player over the last 2 years.menpond wrote: Cannot praise Wigan enough, especially the derided centres who increasingly look the best we have had in ten years PLUS , and so young. Re: Catalan game
Full credit for their performance & discipline tonight, in the face of intimidation I've not seen at this level for many seasons.
I just wonder, after the Saints game when similar over-aggressive tactics were used, if coaches believe they can gain the upper hand against a very young team and that becomes the main part of their game plan. Think after we took out Leeds (fairly) at 'Magic', other coaches are looking at us and going one (or two!) steps further to get into the young lads, by fair means or foul ?
The tackle on Charnley almost garrotted the lad - not sure what the tariff is for that but he needs sidelining for at least 8 matches - it was despicable.

What hard yards? In a salary cap system, every pound costs,ie its someone else wage. You cannot play pro RL if you are so small as a forward ,or centre so you lose your best players. Its not fair on everyone else. Rubbish tonight.,and in coming matches it will probably cost. Same people slag off SARG and GELLING, parochial small minded wiganers.

Is this a serious post? Farrel makes hard yards and tackles everything. On top of that his reading of the game is fantastic he makes Edwards like runs to be on the shoulder of a break maker. Hes small. So what? Would be interested to see his stats. He made a ton of tackles todaymenpond wrote: What hard yards? In a salary cap system, every pound costs,ie its someone else wage. It's not someone else's wage it Liam Farrell's wage that in my opinion he deserves week in week out. Clearly SW a double winning coach agrees.
Guess who is our 2nd leading try scorer?
Guess who has the most carries in our squad?
Guess who has the most metres in our Forwards?
Guess who has the 2nd most tackles?
Guess who has the 3rd most clean breaks?
That's right, Liam Farrell, so guess you could say he earns his money even for a midget!!
Considering you are obsessed with size, give me a good small one over a average big one any day of the week!!
