2 props and 3 loose forwards. Good comparison.Doveoverdave posted:

Re: A Born Leader
What was Farrells true position in the GB line up?
You really are a numbskull.
The dearth of true quality in the game in this country means that GB pick their best and most talented players. These have then to some how "fit" into the team. This means you pick forwards & backs and mould a team.
Tickle is a potential GB forward regardless of prop. second row, loose forward.
All of these positions he played before.
Another on the list Ellis.
It can be a really long list before Tickle comes into the equation.

You didn't mention Farrell - -I was talking about the 5 players you did. Farrell was moved to stand-off for GB on many occasions, but that doesn't mean he is one.Doveoverdave posted:

Perhaps so, but the truth of my reply should still be self-evident; if not, just check some old team sheets. You really are a numbskull.
and look how successful that tactic has been. The dearth of true quality in the game in this country means that GB pick their best and most talented players. These have then to some how "fit" into the team. This means you pick forwards & backs and mould a team.
exactly, but you keep saying he isn't. Make your mind up.Tickle is a potential GB forward regardless of prop. second row, loose forward.

Re: A Born Leader
Every player in SL is a "potential" GB player.
Strategy wise we are left with little option regarding GB selection.
If the GB coach selected "specialist" prop, wing whatever it would seriously weaken an already shaky team because you would have to bring in the players of Tickle's calibre!!!
Look Tickle is a decent pro, but he aint GB quality yet.

I was taking "on current form" to exclude O'Loughlin & Carney, so yeah, Newton & Radlinski are my two.Doveoverdave posted:
