What I can't understand, is that if the BBC really has no interest in RL, then why bother with the highlight show, the CC and the RWC?
Let ITV/C4/C5/Dave have it?
They have no Premier League, but they still drool over that.

They cover the Challenge Cup because it is a listed event and imo just to stop other 'freeview' channels making it a better presentation of it than coverage of their precious Rugby Union which is part of the old school tie which stills exists within the BBC.

I'm pretty sure they did it in internationally recognised & publicised sports and were/are based in the UK

Yeah thanks, I understand now. The highlights show and the RWC aren't though. Seems strange why they bother.
The BBC presenter going on and on about the great Widnes fans was one to remember, sadly.

I'd have to be really bored to watch that. Like some women's football teams going professional. Maybe it's just me, but professional??

Watched the England v NZ game the other month with a friend of mine, on tv. Played it at school for a while and watched it occasionally over the years, but I found it very dull.
What SB will be thinking in 12 months is another question.

Wouldn't surpride me that after the Union WC he asked for an early release from the 15 code.
Fordy said he was bored playing centre some weeks ago.
The Union press, of course, interview him and he talks the game up as he has to.
When you look at his game stats for Souths and England RL what he does in Union is laughable.

It will be interesting to see how quickly his fitness levels drop off with the limited intensity of training and ball to hand time including tackling with that compared to his time at Souths.
Backs tend to stand around doing nothing in Yawnion, more so when scrums are set and re-set and line outs formed etc.
I wonder also if Burgess will learn how to kick a rugby ball, I just cant imagine how he will adapt to the boredom of the sport considering how much intensity he afforded whilst playing League.

To be fair the conditioning in Union is much better than it was, and I think sam wouldn't let himself get unfit he seems like a driven man
