It was awful! Lots of potentially good moves spoiled by stupid handling errors, too often on the first tackle...Kev Brown the worst offender, and I usually stick up for him, but he was terrible tonight, as was Moran except for that last drop goal attempt (that was turned into a try more by luck than judgement!).
DV looked horrible at FB, though admittedly without any major blunders, Dallas worked hard as always, but was having to come infield too much to be effective.

MOM for me was probably Scully (more as the best of a bad bunch, really).

At the end of the day, though, a win's a win, but we need some bodies back for next Sunday, or we're gonna struggle.

Fact is tonight was completely unacceptable. Fair enough if we'd been kept close and actually played but we didn't play. I wasn't expecting us to thrash em but I was NOT expecting that type of match. I hope it changes before next week.

The thing is we did'nt play well,the conditions were bad and UTC are not as bad as most people think.

Tonight was the poorest performance I have seen from Wigan. Again too many errors in our game, mainly from Brown and Moran. Does Brown have really small hands, does anyone know, because he drops the ball so often for a pro RL player?

I thought we lacked ideas too, they were defending in numbers and we were playing short passes which were getting snuffed straight out, we needed to make use of the wings but didn't.

To say UTC were not good opposition does not give them the respect they deserve. They played well tonight, their tackling was superb and their fitness was much higher than I expected, they managed to throw 3 men into each tackle for 80 minutes, it's good to see they are properly preparing for SL next season. All credit to them, had they been a bad team we'd have managed a few more breaks and the score would have been kinder to us! I thought Murphy looked quite a good player, he could tackle well and hold his own going forward.

I wasn't so sure about Vaealiki at fullback tonight with his usual poor defence but I thought he did an adequate job although he wasn't really tested. One thing he still needs to do is get some urgency about himself, he was leisurely jogging into position and after kicks. He needs to pull his socks up.
