I don't know about the claim made at the top BUT clearly Sky were under pressure to get off air with the way the game ended.

The Football First: Match Choice had already been delayed by 15 minutes and I think it's a contractual obligation that Sky start showing those highlights before Match of the Day starts, 10:15 being the latest they can do so.

So rather than the satellite link running out, I think more the football being delayed was the issue, certainly explains the quick exit.

I wasn't aware that the referees were linked in to the broadcasters communication system. If they are surely they will get plenty of distraction from the director calling camera switches and telling the hand held guys where to go etc.

If so, it only proves that that with games moved to Thursdays, Sky regard our game as a fill in at the weekend with football the be all and end all of their sports coverage.

Perhaps, the RFL should now be looking towards coverage by Premier or BT Sport.

Begs the question, Are Sky giving our game a minimum contract just above what they know rival companies can offer?

Don't doubt that ddtft has been told this but it seems a bit far fetched to me. Was it Joel who gave the final penalty away and if so, mustn't he have also been in on the conspirency?
Anyhow, Golden Point is a stupid way to decide anything and in my eyes a fair fought out draw after 80mns was the true result.

But it clearly wasn't a penalty that is the whole point!!

What was the penalty for? Joel doesn't even know and he was supposedly guilty of an offence and captain!

Thank you I never post fiction, I only post from a first hand source & not what someone has heard in a pub or at work.

It would not take any longer than a minute for a referee to find an infringement in our game, its all about the way HE interprets it.

It wasn't Joel, it was Sutton who ripped the ball out. It was subtle, but he definitely ripped it out, so the penalty was the right call.
Indeed it was, but just came at the right time for BENTham to end the game on the instruction of Sky, if true of course!
