An excellent point, and one that ignores the fact that the below-10000 crowd in the previous round, again against non-SL opposition, was still the 2nd highest crowd of the round. Just because the crowds aren't up to our 13000 average, doesn't mean that they are low crowds when put into the context of the competition as a whole. Bradford vs Hull has only managed 11350, despite that being a big match.

Fact is, many people who buy season tickets don't want to pay extra for cup games, £15 may not seem a lot of money but if you're bringing a family then it all adds up. Having known the opposition, most people would have expected us to progress, meaning another lot of £15 tickets for the next round, yet more expense. If you're the kind of person that's looking at finances in this way, then it's understandable if people want to hold onto their money for a game that might actually look like a contest which last night wasn't supposed to be.

Also, this was moved to a Friday night when everyone will have been expecting a Saturday or Sunday fixture - it's not beyond the realms of possibility that some people had made arrangements for the Friday night, seeing a Friday where there was supposed to be no rugby.
