Wakey were dire as expected but more importantly elsewhere was the defeat of Saints.

Wakefield didn't play well.

We however looked alot more together. Actually played a fill 80 minutes.

Hampshire was a pleasure to watch.

Final scoreline flattered Stains who's last 2 tries were awarded by disgraceful officiating!

Couldn't get to the game, wrong shift (Backs).
How did rocky fare, was he positioned at full back and did he link the line well.
Were Wigan good or Wakey just poor.
Who were our better players.

Just got back.

The standout player for me was Bateman. Thought he was a thorn in their side all night.

Rocky did Ok, came into the line well and had couple of breaks but was never put under any pressure at all. Neither was Manfredi who also looked OK.

A good game for Rocky to play in given how weak Wakey were IMO to get some confidence because if he plays Friday he is going to a lot busier defensively.

Faz played better than of late and scored a very nice individual try where he left them all for dead but Wakefield were very poor for that one.

I am not sure what Wane can learn from that game. Wakefield were awful and we did as you might expect score a lot of points.

A couple of examples of how bad Wakefield were was one where they just dropped the ball at Gellings feet on about 30m for him to pick up and score and for I think it was Faz's first try just stood watching as he ran the ball in.

We looked better than of late for longer periods but when the concentration went as it did a couple of times we looked shapeless. We also wanted to play basketball in our own 20m again a few times. Logan had a decent enough game except he gave a daft penalty away virtually inviting the ref to penalise him for lying on which he did and Wakey scored off the next set of six.

I think the worst passage of Wigan play was when with about 15 to go we had a ton of pressure on their line, they were dead and buried and we still couldn't score. Micky Mac took the wrong option to go right three times in a row.

So better by Wigan but still not great. Still not looking like a unit with a great deal of understanding between the players.

Mossop was sponsors MoM.

Kept up to date with this through BBC website. It had Clubb kicking a goal. That's not right is it?

No. Smith kicked the goals unless I have gone blind. Kicked one from the touchline in the first half. A Frano Botica special in that is just crept over the bar but was very accurate.

Thanks Mick,
I listened to the Wish FM coverage, we can get net coverage at work.
It mentioned Moose being awarded MOM that seemed strange according to Bilko and the other radio pundit.
Just seen Dave O's thread, Gelling got three tries which seems a big positive plus the younger guns like Manfredi and Hampshire seeming to fit in.
Wakey fielding such a weakened side doesn't make it easy to decide if were getting better as there seemed to be some poor options taken with periods of sloppy play.
Based on this Wakey team and last years Wigan team this result would surely have been nearer 100 points on the board and not just the 50 we scored last night?

Blinking eck Panchita. After the past few weeks scoring 30 points would have been good, never mind 50.
Don't be fooled, it was a very competent display, not perfect but imo, 80% of the way there and something to be quite pleased about.

Cheers DaveO. I thought it was strange initially but even more so as Smith continued to be accredited the goals after Club's "one".
