Hail King George I
Reflecting on the Wire game, it strikes me that a huge amount has been posted about Rocky as the future star, the only question seems to be whether at 1 or 6.
I don't want to knock the lad - he linked up well at times v Wire, but the 2 dropped balls, not under exceptional pressure, suggest he still a work-in-progress.
The first time I saw Rocky was in the 2013 under-19 final at Headingley. Having read so much about him on this forum, I was looking forward to a first glimpse of a future star. I came away convinced that I'd seen exactly that - but his name was George Williams.
George controlled things in that final with an amazing maturity for a lad of 18. The question was, would he be able (or be given the chance) to do the same on the big stage? His performances this season say "Yes" for me - increasingly so as the team improves.
"We need a Blake Green" was a common call at the start of the season. We've got one who could be more of a Trent Barrett. George is still only 20 years 6 months old. By the time he's 23 he'll be the lynch-pin of the team, our replacement for Green and Lockers rolled into one.
The first world-class English half-back since ... Alex Murphy? Hail King George I All imo

I've said it several times, he is he best half back in the club by a country mile. He will play for England and the NRL will come calling. If I were Rads I would give him an improved 10 year deal. The lad is pure class and as tough as nails.

Best half back promise in 50 years, from thru the WIGAN ranks, though Gregory was a true great.,and Bolton a true test player,

I've always been convinced of his quality and what about that try-saving tackle last night! His defence is really impressive.
Re: Hail King George I
We had a spare ticket for 2013 GF but gave the seat to a young guy of about 14 years old so he could be close to is family. He said then that George Williams will be a better player than Rocky.
If Williams plays like he did last night and improves then he will be some player.

Williams was good last night and is improving week by week.Hampshire is certainly no full back, he may be better at 6 or 7.I hope Wane gives him the opportunity soon in place of Smith who has a poor kicking game and is too slow.

I actually thought Smith kicked better last night!
