MsLam, the question has to be why Nick Graham is once again in the position where he cannot get a spot in Oz. The answer there would suggest that he should not be at Wigan either if we have any ambition at all
Here! Here!
Fine, but if you follow this argument to its conclusion the only ones we will accept are the ones that wont come!!

We're not gona get any real quality at this stage of the season. Graham did well last time. He's better then nothing thats for sure - and thats our choice: him or nothing

In this weeks League express it seems that Nick Graham is on the look out for a new club. I thought he did a good job for us last time, not spectacular but could play in several positions.Kicking game was better than what we see now. Could do a good job again. Anybody agree
I thought he was a good player while he was here, but as soon as he found a club back in Aus to take him he lost interest in Wigan and did'nt play so many games after that.

What's the stage of the season got with signing players???
Saints bought Gleeson (he was banned of course but the deal was done mid term) Bulls Harris - mid term deal. Leeds Lauititi(?)- mid term deal.Bulls Harris (Aus)mid term deal.
The club just seems unable or willing to conduct any quality business whatever stage of the season these days.

JJ, don't follow that argument of yours. I would rather have no one and leave the spots open, money talks, rather than sign the likes of Vaelaeki and Moran on 3 year deals.

Or perhaps the asking prices are so far off the scale so as to be ridiculous. It's entirely possible that other clubs don't want to sell to Wigan for whatever reason so they ask silly money to release players from contracts, whereas the selling club may not be so much against other clubs and the release-costs are lower. It's not an open market where players have fixed price tags, there's no "what you see is what you pay". Each club has to make its own deals for players, and the selling clubs can make things up as they go along.

Harris, Ellis, Gleeson are all deals done lately for top players and Wigan wasn't even mentioned or rumoured to be linked to these players. We just don't seem to be in the equation as regards the transfer of high quality players. Why is this?

The Gleeson deal probably had something to do with his brother already being at Warrington. Harris has joined mid-season, until next month when Farrell comes off the books we're at our salary cap limit for the season so we couldn't be in the chase here. As for Ellis, we'd already got Farrell, Lockers, Dave Allen etc as loose forward, we already had much better options in that position when he was on the market.

When Ellis was avaiable we had Farrell at prop, Lockers at stand off and I won't even mention Dave Allen amongst three GB internationals

Hmm, we would have expected Faz to return to 13 having signed SeuSeu and Davico, Orr to be at 5/8th and Dave Allen to be a squad man to play from time-to-time. I know he's not a GB international, but he'd been on the edge of the first team for a while so would have needed some games this year to justify his shirt. If things had gone to plan with everyone fit and in their preferred positions then we would have had Ellis as an expensive spare player with nowhere to play. Hindsight is a wonderful thing: we wouldn't have expected Davico to retire, Faz to defect, Lockers to be out for the season and Orr to be a part-time player due to injuries.
